Warning to drivers using Low Catton Road, Stamford Bridge. The eastern boundary of the village's cricket ground is immediately beyond the hedge on the right. Captured before a relegation clash with Yorkshire Premier League North rivals York, who won by seven wickets. The axes on Stamford Bridge Cricket Club's badge reference the eponymous battle of 1066.
Defeat, coupled with Harrogate's surprise six-wicket victory at Dunnington, saw Stamford Bridge plunge a place into the relegation zone. Beaten at Harrogate on August 7, they are now two points from safety. Driffield Town, well adrift at the bottom, gave themselves a glimmer of hope of avoiding the drop after winning, by five runs, at Sherriff Hutton Bridge.
To be frank, Stamford Bridge looked relegation fodder. They batted poorly and their fielding was much less secure than York's.
Having opted to bat, Stamford Bridge soon slid to 9-2 then 36-3. Dominic Blampied, in at No 3, rode his luck in hitting 26. He played and missed a few times, and edged several shots over the slips. No 6 Martyn Woodliffe enlivened proceedings by hitting a four then a six in consecutive deliveries before departing for 15.
From 93-8, the hosts did well to post 131. They were indebted to tailender Jake Dickinson, who contributed an unbeaten 28 and, with William Robertson (9), added 34 for the ninth wicket. Ryan McKendry (3-22) had the best figures. Simon Lambert finished with 2-6.
York, a big club rarely in such trouble in this division, adopted a patient approach when replying. Stamford Bridge had them 55-2 but, at 73-2, dropped No 3 McKendry (34). The culprit appeared to lose his footing. Finlay Bean (40 not out) and McKendry compiled a third wicket stand worth 50. Dave Chaplin took 2-43.

The Seaton Tramway is a 2ft 9in (838 mm) narrow gauge electric tramway which operates over part of the route of the former London & South Western Railway branch line to Seaton, Devon. The line was converted between 1969 and 1971 by Claude Lane, who had bought the line from British Rail and had successfully operated trams in Eastbourne as a visitor attraction.
The 3-mile (4.8 km) route runs through East Devon's Coly and Axe Valleys, between the coastal resort of Seaton, the small village of Colyford and the ancient town of Colyton.
Thirteen tram cars are part of the visitor attraction which sees about 80,000 visitors per year. The tram cars are half-scale (1:2) replicas of classic British tram cars from various cities.
We hit Round Table Pizza for lunch. We actually ate at the round table. It made the food taste better. This axe was hung above us. Kinda creepy, unless it's just a decoration.

L'Axe majeur est une œuvre monumentale située à Cergy1, dans le département du Val-d'Oise, en France. Elle s'inscrit dans une boucle de l'Oise, au centre de la ville nouvelle de Cergy-Pontoise. L’œuvre est conçue par le sculpteur israélien Dani Karavan à partir de 1980, ses premiers éléments apparaissant au cours des années 1980. Sa réalisation connaît une longue période de creux jusqu'au milieu des années 2000 où sont réalisées les stations du bord de l'Oise. Inachevé par rapport aux divers plans créés, l'Axe est composé de douze stations sur une longueur de 3,2 kilomètres, incluant une tour penchée, un ensemble de douze colonnes, une passerelle, une île ou encore un rayon laser qui survole le parcours. Il débute dans le quartier auquel il a donné son nom, Axe Majeur - Horloge (anciennement Saint-Christophe) et s'achève à la limite avec Neuville-sur-Oise, après avoir survolé les étangs artificiels de Cergy-Neuville. Symbole de la ville nouvelle, il est également l'une des œuvres importantes de Dani Karavan, qui accompagne sa construction pendant plus de trente ans.
