The rocks were done in encrusted embroidery style then painted over. The fish were crocheted in miniature, the lilies are mini tissue pompoms painted with watercolors. the grass is cross stitch floss and the lily pads are watercolor painted fabric.

All together the project took about three weeks, though I took many breaks to make other things and uncross my eyes from time to time.

Holographic poster for NiD.

Sorry for the bad quality, this is from EBay. It's not mine. If I ever manage to get a copy of this poster, I'll upload a better version.

And other Awesomesauce!

Don't Fook with the Jesus! hehe

We had some fun dancing after the awesomesauce show! Grats to Ivey and crew, all of your clothes, skin, hair, poses make me want to hump all your legs! And thanks again for picking me for numero 3 in the flickr contest! I HAD A BLAST!

There were four of us taking photos of this car by the time he parked, including these two women.

Roses from my valentine and a shared love for the classics. :)

I was super happy with the food this year. I would travel for that Veggie Sushi with Papaya Salad and I'm normally almost a militant carnivore. Sexy Airstream trailer too.

Maureen

Head shot session

October 2018

I met Maureen (Moe) a decade ago when she took a workshop of mine. Cut to a few weeks ago when she decided it was time to work with me.

Moe was fantastic to work with; very relaxed and it was like not a day had passed since the workshop she took with me.

Upon receiving the processed delivered files, she stated:

"This photo is a statement of how I see myself moving forward."

My Stuart Little in his car. Present from Rob forever ago. I made him mod the car. I have a working horn and headlights. It's pretty awesomesauce!

The World Botanical Garden is off the Onomea Bay, and features the Umauma Falls.

Which to me, calls to mind the Oscars episode with David Letterman hosting, where he introduces Uma Thurman and Oprah Winfrey, just so he can say, "Uma, Oprah. Oprah, Uma," over and over again. The joke was awesomesauce because it was ultimately meaningless -- just one of those weird Letterman abstractions that gives him (and me) the giggles. (Heck, that Oscars they had a "Cabin Boy-"related skit, which is ludicrously delightful.)

(This really has nothing to do with flowers or Hawaii, does it?)

What I'm trying to say is, unexpectedly the World Botanical Gardens was one of our favorite places that we visited on the Big Island. Supposedly an hour's walk, we took two hours to meander up and down the trails, snapping shots, ogling mongooses, stepping on strawberry guava fruits to release their narcotic aroma, talking to old people, trying to make parrots talk to us, and snapping pictures every four steps. Most of which turned out to be a general failure since I was still figuring out how to get the best out of the Canon 100mm macro lens, but so it goes. Some shots like this one turned out quite nice, methinks.

Even though I don't know what this flower actually is.

So, we'll just go back to my earlier convention of made-up names for flowers.

So. Drum roll please. Thirty seconds on the clock. No, I don't know why, just do it.

This is...

The Magenta Monkeycup Flower!

The center can be harvested and used as a nipple stimulant or as an aromatic peppercorn that tastes faintly of floor wax. The Monkeycup only grows in Hawaii, the seeds propagated by the Krieghauser's Tubasbill Warbler, a small yellow bird with a tremendous beak and a minor anxiety disorder.

The empty lot next to CVS in Española is my power spot. I always get something good there.

I get the chance to walk from home to one of my fave stores and found out I will be seeing a hot hot new release from them, wow! And as I was shopping, I bumped into a cocky guy IMing ladies to get their attention. Aw, poor you claiming you're so cute and handsome yet you still have to IM ladies. Tsk tsk, be a gentleman dude. So I get this instinct of being protective to the lady he IMed and be rude to that guy. Sorry, nature calls for it. :) So here is my awesomesauce look today, hope ya'll like it.

She ran from shiny orange orb to shiny orange orb looking for the perfect one. She found it.

The pumpkin patch is a magical place. Go visit one. It's that time of year.

So I'm including more in comments - again. The first one was taken tonight. The second was taken 364 days ago. I remembered taking a similar shot so I dug it out. As you can see, our weather last year was a bit nicer than it was this year. The pumpkins didn't seem to mind either way.

Lucky me! This year's Lego calendar came with a long haired brown Lego wig. I was able to update the old Lego Carol with groovy new plastic hair. Awesomesauce!

*Sorry about the quality; it was better on Picnik; you have to view it in All Sizes :(* Just a bit of Picniking I did ;) Nothing new, really; it's the same stuff as the trailer-- but in a collage & with awesomesauce font! :D

Friend Eli celebrated his 30th birthday at Sun Wah on Broadway with a pig-banquet.

Uh, I ate WAY more things than this plateful, like lotus root with pork belly and small mushrooms, stuffed eggplant, duck, chicken with Awesomesauce, and a healthy amount of tea and Maker's Mark, but at some point celebrating overtook photography.

This was the very last shot of the night. The cord-tail fell of the ball but was still burning, so I took it and danced with it for a while. Fire in the darkness makes me kinda happy...

Yup, just trying to keep the group alive. Inspired by The Chef!
