This mirrored finished sculpture needed a little work given the ambient lighting conditions. So with a couple of photos I made a HDR composite.

One thing I've noticed about HDRs is that it works best visually when the subject or the scene is corroded or rusted due to the combination of lights and shadows. Both elements really pop when they're tonemapped. I'm a huge fan of Trey Ratcliff and Brian Matiash who both do awesome HDR photography.
This is a 5-exposure shot, tonemapped using Photomatix, cropped and re-adjusted in CS5. It doesn't look as surreal as the ones you see often, but maybe next time, I'll try a 7- or 9-exposure shot and put 'em together.

14-03-10 Don't really have much to write today. This is a lamp. I have processed it with the holga setting on Silver Efex Pro. It came out with a LOT of grain. And I dont think it looks too bad.

Circular pigsties such as this were once common in south Wales. Most of them were probably built towards the end of the 18th century and during the early decades of the 19th century. The walls are of dry-stone construction and roof is corbelled - where each circle of stonework is gradually reduced until a dome-shaped structure is formed. Nearly all of the eighty or so examples recorded in Wales to-date were found in the south of the country. Similar but smaller stone corbelled structures were also erected in Wales to house geese and ducks.
