I think it's always important to be vigilant of what you're doing and aware of your surroundings.

October

O hushed October morning mild,

Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;

Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,

Should waste them all.

The crows above the forest call;

Tomorrow they may form and go.

O hushed October morning mild,

Begin the hours of this day slow.

Make the day seem to us less brief.

Hearts not averse to being beguiled,

Beguile us in the way you know.

Release one leaf at break of day;

At noon release another leaf;

One from our trees, one far away.

Retard the sun with gentle mist;

Enchant the land with amethyst.

Slow, slow!

For the grapes' sake, if the were all,

Whose elaves already are burnt with frost,

Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—

For the grapes' sake along the all.

This gecko kept a cautious eye on me as it hugged this banana leaf.

This is my second shot for the weekly theme of "contact," the second of four themes with which Myla Kent and I have chosen to challenge ourselves.

I like the large version of this one.

I found Fidget lying in the pasture yesterday afternoon, unable to get up, wagging her tail weakly as I hurried over. She was one sick doggie.

We lifted her into the Jeep and took her to the emergency vet clinic a couple of towns south of us.

After hours of tests and rule-outs, it turned out that she had a galloping urinary tract infection. She improved enormously within a few hours of starting on Bactrim.

Back home, I made her a fresh haypile in the pasture, and she tucked right in. It's what she wants when she's not feeling well.

Fidget has had a rough year, but she's always a good soldier and a sweet, stoic patient. She's seen above giving Molly a smooch this afternoon. Later she licked Molly's face as M was pressing the plunger of her allergy shot.

She's four-and-a-half years old.

Green and Blue are the colours used by the charities, in the UK, that raise awareness, and support those with Neurofibromatosis

Portrait of a patient with end stage renal disease on chronic hemodialysis that I have the privilege of taking care of. Taken after her treatment in a small office with a large window giving reflected morning light from the parking lot. (see more portraits on "ckd_awareness1" on my Instagram)

Squeezing in the entire Stockholm City Hall in a single shot isn't easy if you're standing nearby. My 12mm shot with a cropped sensor didn't quite do the trick, but close enough! As I'm sure you're aware, this is where they award the Nobel Prize each year.

It's National Iguana Awareness Day! Be kind to an iguana near you!

A pair of bighorn sheep are seen near Gardiner, Montana just outside the park boundary of Yellowstone National Park.

The Crespi Lacrosse team is walking around their home track on February 14th to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. My boyfriend Blake Gaytan who is on the team told me about their cause and I really think what they are doing is an amazing thing. I along with the Lacrosse team as well as many other participants am going to also walk for this cause. Since I know that all of you cannot be there to walk with us I would really love if you could visit the following website to get more information and pledge.

"Poverty is a veil that obscures the face of greatness. An appeal is a mask covering the face of tribulation."

A second quote within the same context:

"Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within."

Dana Lam and the old guards reclaimed the stage.

Aware of my presence, this beautiful bird locked eyes with me and did not budge allowing me to get the shot and many others, Thanks for stopping,

Couldn't get a full shot of it with this pinhole camera at the time.

Part of a set I did on self-injury. No, it's not real. Corn syrup and food coloring. But it's a real situation that countless people have experienced.

It was cathartic to do these. I wanted to turn my painful past experiences into something beautiful.

Apparently a friggin' TON of people have viewed this, and yet... no comments.

Come on, guys.

i decided to delete the other one because this one is not as dark and bleak looking...and i think it has more of a symbolic message of hope. so in case you didn't see the other one and you have no idea what this is about. i'm interning at a battered women's shelter this semester and i'm helping them put together a course to educate emergency workers on what the signs of domestic violence are. i wanted to find a good intro image. this is a combination of two images.
