... this is the link to a photo-show I've named The Story of India, because it was not only inspired by Dharmendra Singh, Prerana and their soon Abin (known to us as 007), by Bushra from Pakistan, where history has long been attached to India, but to a beautiful and brilliant PBS movie by the same name, The Story of India. I came away from that experience believing two things, one, that India is indeed a country symbolizing "the coming together of two oceans" and further that India is a microcosm for the entire world, throughout history. The cultures, languages and religions of Inda are truly beautiful and have more often than not, melded together with peace and understanding, fueled by mutual respect.
... you are now a part of all that... here's the link ...
Macro photo of an award I was given at the Chester County Camera Club.
For Macro Mondays theme: Award.
This theme brought me back into my late teens 😄. During this time I practised archery and won some competitions in 1991. This was my award of the club champignonship, a small pin.
HMM 😏
This is a Lady Amherst Pheasant on display at out local park. The brilliant feathers made me think of the gala fashion night at the Grammy Awards last night. The performers wore an array of over the top outfits that made for a spectacular fashion show. This may be Lady Amherst but I am thinking she could easily represent Lady Gaga or a few other well known music artists. It is definitely eye catching!

Searching for something suitable to photograph, I found this long forgotten prize rosette with a subtly pleasing texture/wear/patina (I think) that Katie got about 15 years ago at a Pony Club event.
Pony Club days seems a different us & a long forgotten time now! I was always so worried at the time about Katie and Ellen getting spinal injuries that I could never be fully supportive or enthusiastic as they might have liked. But I could never be fully negative at the time and say clearly how i felt (and it might have not worked out well if I had!)
...Anyway ...Everyone survived but I was very glad when it stopped.
Nowadays we still have our Geriatric pony, Ranger, now 34 or 35 years old (need to check his records) - He is the tangible, 3 buckets a day, connection between that time and now. Happy enough to do that penance now.

My first book, "Riding with Ghosts, Angels, and the Spirits of the Dead," has won its second book competition award, a Bronze Medal in Readers' Favorite International Book Award Contest.
My book also won a Silver Award from the Non Fiction Authors Association in its book contest.
The impressively sized Bronze Award is 3" in diameter and comes with a ribbon for wearing around the neck.
Due to the virus the awards ceremony in Miami has been postponed until 2022. There I will be awarded an additional medal and will be in the company of fellow writers such as Neil deGrasse Tyson who also medaled in his category.
Very proud of my book's accomplishments and recognition, and grateful for all of my readers' praise and kind comments!

Macro Mondays - Award
I was delighted to receive my 75th donation pin from the Blood Service (UK) and am now well on the way to my 100th donation !! Unfortunately Covid has had an impact on the blood donation service but, all being well, I am due to donate again in June 2021
The National Blood Service was formed in 1946 as the Blood Transfusion Service and is still often referred to as this. The service collects around 2.1 million donations per year and supplies 8,000 units of blood every day. This service depends entirely on voluntary donations from the public.
There are blood donation sessions set up throughout the country and take place in many diverse venues, from village halls, workplaces and mobile collection units (known as Bloodmobiles). Donors are generally required to be fit and healthy, weigh at least 50 kilograms (110 lb; 7 st 12 lb) and aged between 17 and 60. However, regular donors are permitted to donate past the age of 60 as long as they remain healthy.
Donors are encouraged to give blood up to three times a year (once every 16 weeks).
If you are inspired and fulfil the criteria to be able to donate, then please click on or copy and paste the link below to sign up

Awarded in June 1984, for his dedicated service to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. At the end of the war he was offered a position with the Commission and had numerous postings throughout Europe, remaining with them until he retired at 64. Sadly he was diagnosed with cancer soon after retirement and died within a year. See first comment below.

The organizers arranged a handful of awards to give out. I actually won one for being the person who traveled the farthest to attend the reunion. I told them I came from Europe. They almost had a problem with that, and asked where my current address is. I said Seattle ... and still would have one it for that. I am one of the very few classmates (in attendance, anyway) that have actually moved out of Central Florida, much less out of Florida.

So thrilled to come in at 3rd place at the annual Focus Awards. The competition was marked very hard with no gold awards and only 9% given to Silver. Olga
