My favourite at the moment! Railings and a wrought iron aviary containing two little birds. Silk.

Aviary is a set of internet applications running on Flex, including an image editor, a vector application and much more. The home page uses a bit of Flash, but the internal pages are nicely designed around that Flash bit and have suble design details that look really classy.

National Aviary 9-25-13

Johannesburg Zoo, South Africa

Built this aviary structure overnight to put alongside the awesome Jurassic Park display. Attendees at BC added greebling time and brick to bring the display to life.

The aviary at the Queens Zoo is in a geodesic dome designed by Buckmister Fuller and used for the 1964 World's Fair. It's a really cool space; if only there were cooler birds. The Queens Zoo is a tiny zoo specializing in North American animals, so for the most part, the birds are rather boring. But the space is totally worth visiting.

The Edward Youde Aviary (尤德觀鳥園) is a 3,000-square-metre (32,000 sq ft) aviary built over a natural valley at the southern corner of Hong Kong Park which is located in Central at the bottom of the north eastern slope of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. The Edward Youde Aviary was opened to the public in September 1992 and managed by the Urban Council. The aviary, largest in Southeast Asia, is named after the late Sir Edward Youde, The Governor of Hong Kong from 1982 to 1986.

The valley is bounded by an east-facing slope fully covered with natural vegetation and a west-facing slope previously occupied by a barracks. It has a highest point of 46.5 metres (153 ft) and a lowest point of 30 metres (98 ft) above the valley floor.

This walk-though aviary features a collection of 600 birds representing 80 species indigenous to Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and New Guinea. Ground dwelling birds including pheasants, partridges, pigeons and thrushes. Great argus pheasants proclaim their presence by ringing territorial calls and give one of the most elaborate courtship displays in the bird world.

The entrance to the aviary consists of a small rectangular building. This building holds on display different types of eggs.

This is a photo of our backyard in the home we lived in when we first moved to San Diego - about 10 years ago already. We lived behind a pond.

Put a bird on it…!

Tracked down by it's call from the shadows… 5 sec exposure on the slowly moving Egret. The fishing didn't appear to be good for a night snack.

Zebra finch baby. It's a girl !!

The very first generation born in this aviary. At the end of this clip, you will see the baby's father trying to protect his young.

I don't know the species of this beauty, but it was photographed at one of two aviaries at the Jacksonville Zoo. This beauty was friendly and very cooperative. It's nice to get such a close up look at nature. Wish I had payed attention to the focus point.

There is a new walk through aviary at Twycross Zoo for diamond doves, chinese painted quail, java sparrows and zebra finches. It is not open to the public yet while the birds get acclimatised.

The signs aren't up yet either, so I'm not sure which are which!

I made this quilt top 3 1/2 years ago, just before my baby girl was born. I was too afraid to try free motion quilting, so it sat unfinished until I finally tried it out & got brave enough to take on this quilt. I'm happy to report that my daughter loves it!
