This is the road to Drummond Castle it went on for almost 2 miles will have to go back to get the castle as we were running late :)
commonly known as Beech Avenue.
A favourite spot for photographers, Beech Avenue began life in 1835, when 731 trees were planted either side of the newly built road, which was created as a turnpike, or toll road, to the financial benefit of the land's owner, explorer and Dorset aristocrat William John Bankes.
It's said the road and trees were an extravagant gift from Barnes to his mother Frances.
There were 365 trees along one side, and 366 along the other, one for every day of the year, and the other for every day of a leap year.
We had a lot of fun shooting here, although the road was really busy we still had a few quiet moments where we could get into the middle to get the photos we wanted.
Despite the harsh sunlight, I still managed to get a few shots were the light looked nice coming through the trees.

I never tire of taking pictures of this avenue of trees at Castle Ward, Strangford :)
For some insights into Game of Thrones locations and the tourist industry around them in this area of Northern Ireland:
The Park Avenue Trail is one of the first major attractions within Arches National Park. It is a one-mile trail that follows the bottom of a canyon at the feet of some of the gigantic, and well-known monoliths of interesting formation protruding from the canyon walls.
The Three Gossips, the Courthouse Towers, Queen Nefertiti and Queen Victoria Rock, the Organ, and the Tower of Babel are all visible from the road as visitors drive up towards Balanced Rock and Delicate Arch, but there is a large difference in experience when actually hiking through them.
This short out and back trail heads north down a wide canyon flanked by towering rock walls and spires. These impressive formations are reminiscent of skyscrapers and buildings that shape Manhattan, hence the name 'Park Avenue'.
The trail drops from the trailhead on a steep set of stone stairs (seeing in the foreground) to the wide canyon floor. The dirt path is soon predominantly sandstone as you travel down the widening canyon mouth.
Thank you for your comments,
Gemma

Four traction orange GP38-2s bring 21 cars through the street on what was essentially the final freight movement through the 11th Avenue street-running in Michigan City. Looking back, those back-to-back weekends in Michigan City back in 2019 really paid off.

What I presume to be ALS job 102 begins to pull at Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis (Alorton), IL - a common hold-out point on the Alton & Southern - after a long wait for permission to enter Gateway yard. The crew would pull across the NS Southern West District at A&S Junction and sit for another 40 minutes or so before completing their journey.
Thanks to the A&S PD who stopped by to ensure I wasn't about to jump, then protected my shot here.
Another picture from my favourite avenue, Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club. Every time I pass through, I am amazed by the wonderful trees and calmed by their beauty.
This is a view taken from a park where we often go to see water birds. It is my photo for the 52 in 2018 Challenge - #47 - Shadows.

"What is wrong at the end of the day
What is really wrong no one dares to say
You know you're wrong when there's only one right
but what is wrong when right is out of sight
Right rode away long ago
Before rescuing wrong from below
I might be mistaken, I know
but hey we need to be somewhat
Foolish, feebleminded,
wrong and senseless
Right rode off long ago,
there's nothing more you need to know,
there's nothing more you need to show,
Let us disagree
cause wrong was made, for you to be..."

Sometimes you just have to get down and dirty! Saw this remnant of autumn as I was walking along a lovely avenue so I just laid in the road to take a few pics. Now when I was younger I wouldn't have done that for fear of losing my 'street cred' but as you get older you kind of don't worry about that any more which is very liberating :)!
The top of these Avenue de Camoëns stairs are famous for offering a unique Eiffel Tower view. I didn't know it at the time and I do like to avoid strenuous climbs so I took a picture from the base of the stairs and moved on.
