Completed in 2009, the Grimm Zentrum is the main library for Humboldt University. I arranged for a tour of the library while I was there. The library is open to the public and I found many similarities between this library and my university library.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library officially opened the doors of the new University City Regional Library to the public on February 8, 2025. This new regional library is the largest in the system, spanning 35,000 square feet and featuring an expanded book collection, a new artist installation, more study rooms, modern lighting and furnishings, and automated book return handling.
Adults and teens can enjoy scenic views from the second floor, while children have more space to explore, learn, and play with interactive sensory technology and an expanded storytime room. The library’s proximity to the lake makes it easy to walk to nearby restaurants and outdoor communal areas.
Nearly 3,000 people attended the grand opening, and staff look forward to welcoming even more visitors as they discover their new community hub.
