The Triumph Roadster series was the first post-war cabriolet which the Standard Motor Company could offer. It was based on pre-war models.
In 1946 the 1800 Roadster was presented. This was replaced by the 2000 in 1948. This sports car had to compete with Jaguar.
Because of shortage of steel just after the war, the body was made of aluminium. Only the front wings were made of steel.
Frank Callaby was responsible for the general style of the body. For the design of the details he got help from Arthur Ballard.

When the light is low automatic focus is hindered due to a lack of contrast. This image needed a great deal of help and fortunately my lens gives me appropriate information. Given the f-stop, it informs me of the distance and therefore the depth of field required. The camera tells me the light levels and therefore the neutral density filters needed; in this case 4. Beyond automatic, this is where it gets to be a lot of fun.
Dynaflow was the trademarked name for a type of automatic transmission developed and built by General Motors Buick Motor Division from late 1947 to mid-1963..
Due to a flub reading the exposure chart, this photo was way overexposed. What we see was rescued during the scan. It's seriously broken, but I like the funk the scanner found. Exposure experiments continue....

==========================================
This is one of the oldest cameras you can use with modern, still being produced, film. Because this camera is one early variant of the Kodak No.2 Brownie, which introduced to the World the 120 format.
It's a more complex model of the Brownie, the No.2 Folding Brownie model A, and it's interesting because still retains most of the structure in wood. The model A was produced from 1904 to 1907, but with that Brownie Automatic shutter only to 1905. So this camera is about 113 years old right now. And apparently still in working order!

I took this shot about an hour ago while dog walking. Used my new phone camera (Moto G) and by the time I got back it was already on my computer and (something) had generated an artistic interpretation complete with border!

And your hearts like an engine.
I die with every beat
You're automatic,
And your voice is electric.
No do I still believe...?"

A special French car at a very nice location. So I couldn't resist to take some pictures of it.
