Aussie love TRAR!
Australian men are unusual. They love the TRAR (Remember the El Camino and its sad cousin the Ford Ranchero? They are TRARs - TRuck + cARs).
They also dress in the weirdest pastels (turquoise is big here); have flat-ironed mullets and wear VANS a lot. Why? It's like the world's biggest Spicoli look-alike contest.
I don't get it, but it's amusing.
The weekend of 20-22 May, 2011 was an anniversary event - the 70th of the invasion of Crete. I donned an Aussie getup and participated in this event with the help of John Comisky's RPS and Green Howards, and also the wonderful hospitality of the 39th AIB CHG).
or Hamachi (aka one of my favourite fishes; rather I love that whole family of kampachi, hiramasa, etc) - sweet, sea fresh, buttery and firm, dense but not heavy or oil saturated rich flesh. Yellowtail is loved not just by Australians but any of the folks living along the belt from there to Japan. Beautiful stuff and the filets present were absolutely lovely. The aroma itself was so subtle and mouth watering.
