Id hazard a guess that this fully licensed Playmind Audi TT Coupe is meant to represent the latest third generation and if so is a pretty rare thing in this scale and price point. Most toy makers still busy themselves with the first two.
Cutting quite a dash in this non metallic orange colour its commendably high on the realism front with plenty of official badging and a TT unique interior. All very impressive when you consider this costs half the price of a basic MBX sold at ASDA and the same price as a HTI generic horror!
Part of a 12 vehicle set bought recently from TK Maxx who are increasingly becoming quite a fertile place in which to find interesting and often unavailable here 1/64 models. Mint and boxed.

Realtoy seemed to go through the same stages as many Far Eastern toy makers. It started making unlicensed castings some of which were borrowed from Soma and some which were blatant Tomica copies, they then branched out into some seriously good but again unlicensed models before going legit and producing fully approved castings which they continue to do to this day. That transition period saw models like this appear which you would swear were fully approved castings, highly realistic, beautifully appointed and well finished and certainly non a par with the bigger named competitors.
Rather surprisingly this first generation Audi TT is actually unlicensed, the only thing giving it away is the lack of badging and identification on its baseplate. How it got past the noses of Audi I do not know though its one I haven't seen in years so maybe the law did finally catch up with Realtoy. At one time you could find this model in Toys R Us and various supermarkets but sadly this one had to be sourced recently from Ebay.

Brand new Autobahn Express IV five vehicle set recolour of the Matchbox 2019 Audi TT RS which without sounding like a broken record, is for me personally its best release so far. A casting crying out for a sleek glossy black finish which it eventually gets to good effect.
