This is Mark VandeWettering's table of Atari bits, demonstrating his 2600 recreation of the German Enigma Machines of WW2. On his laptop there, he also fired up for me his recreation of Space War. Great stuff.

The 1981 arcade classic had its best conversion to home formats on the Atari 2600. Simple but fiendishly simple Frogger was a classic. More.

Thanks to some leftover vinyl sticker paper and some super sharp cutting skills, I've fashioned my own tribute to Atari in all its pixelated glory.

For the closing ceremony I wanted the whole audience to play with my Atari 2600 console. Therefore I have built an interface which allows me to simulate a joystick and paddles with my Arduino board. The directions are triggered by tracking the motion of the audience. Since I couldn't test any of this in advance I wrote an AIR application which allowed me to adjust the motion tracking zones and the sensitivity on the fly.

I reconfigured the items on the second shelf. I looked at the Turbo Grafx 16 and CD-i stuff, each sitting on half of their own shelves and decided that it would be unlikely that I'd be growing those collections rapidly in the near future, so I couldn't justify giving them each a shelf to themselves. So, I consolidated those two systems onto one shelf, then placed the Atari Lynx and Nokia N-Gage together on the newly freed shelf. On the top of the shelf is now a near complete collection of US Tomy Tutor items.

This year's motto was "Play" so for the closing ceremony I wanted the whole audience to play with my Atari 2600 console. Fortunately in the end everything worked very well and I think everybody had quite some fun.
