An odd remnant of an old relationship. My now ex-girlfriend absolutely loved the Atari 2600 game Freeway. This is a snap of what I believe to be the highest score you can get on Game 1, achieved by her. (This was unfortunately done the very week she dumped me, so it is as much an unpleasant reminder of what happened as it is a fond memory of the appeal she had.)

The internals of my Atari STE.
I'm considering of bidding on an internal IDE-interface for my Atari so I had to open it up to see if it would fit.
Das waren noch Zeiten. Danke noch mal an Paul meinen Nachbarn für viele vergnügliche Spielstunden damals. Ich hatte ja leider keine eigene Atari Spielkonsole.
Hail the Fuji
This was my second Atari ST. My STFM I traded in for an STE when it came out way back when. This particular unit no longer has an integrated keyboard, where the keypad once was is now a little PCB that provides two joystick ports and an AT keyboard port. I also had (actually still have) an ICD AdSCSI PCB and an old Quantum SCSI drive.

Atari was bred on the (in)famous King Farm Thoroughbred production line, used/exploited for a couple of years on the track, dismissed to a variety of "owners," ending up at the Valley Forge Military Academy in PA. There, he paraded, competed in eventing, and was beaten up badly in polo.
After his "service" to the "Academy," he was set to be auctioned off for slaughter (Europeans and Asians still eat quite a bit of horse meat) when the Ranger Foundation stepped in and adopted him. He now resides at the Ranger Foundation, on Greenbriar farm, near Sharpsburg, Maryland, where for the first time in his life (he's 34 rising), he can be a horse: roaming the huge pastures, playing with his herd mates, and doing what he damn well pleases. Long live Atari!
