This image shows the full Moon of 5 December 2025, a supermoon illuminated at 99.8%.
At this phase, the Moon appeared about 7.7% larger than its average apparent size due to its proximity to perigee.
Its increased brightness and angular diameter made the main lunar maria and craters particularly well defined.
This image of the 5 December 2025 supermoon reveals a subtle chromatic tension between green-leaning and violet-leaning tones.
These hues result from the interplay between diffraction at the lens edges, atmospheric refraction, and the Moon’s own mineral composition.
Regions richer in iron tend to shift the reflected light toward green-olive tones, while areas with higher titanium content naturally push the spectrum toward violet and blue.
Photographed at an optimized horizontal angle, the image maintains this delicate balance of optical forces, allowing each wavelength — and each mineral signature, to assert its presence in the final structure of the photograph.

Captured WR 134 in stunning RGB, H-alpha, and OIII, revealing its breathtaking nebular structures! 💫 This Wolf-Rayet star, located 6,000 light-years away in Cygnus, shines through intense stellar winds, forming a spectacular bubble-like nebula.

Wall Flowers is an homage to the neglected, roadside flowers of the Big Island of Hawaii.

My first Hawaiian Painting. It became the model for the giant glass tile floor mosaic commissioned for the entrance way to the 28 million-dollar Imiloa Astronomy Center, on the University of Hawaii, Hilo Campus. Appeared in my1st one-man show in Hawaii- "One Paradise." There are 10 sea creatures mixed into the painting. I donated this painting to the Hilo Medical Center, hoping that it adds a little joy to patients young & old staying in the hospital.
