On the fifth day of Ramadan, the Moon looks gorgeous, captured by Apple iPhone and Celestron Astromaster LT70 setting! As Galileo Galilei said it is beautiful and delightful sight to behold the body of the Moon!
It is indeed!

Nameplate of Celestron 130AZ. Nickname "Vince", short for the Vincent Tennele Johnson Memorial Telescope. Vince was my wife's late grandson, who loved the stars and left us too soon.
My first attempt at astrophotography, the Earth's moon, crescent phase. A little shaky and out of focus, hoping for better results with a little practice.

A las 8:37 el cielo ya estaba suficientemente iluminado y de color azul claro, pero la focal f13 y el viñeteo del telescopio, junto a la gran nube de contaminación, le dan este color y falta de nitidez.
I took this picture of the Moon through my Celestron Astromaster 114 and a 12.5mm eyepiece with my Kodak P880. This was the best of about 40 afocal shots.
Taken afocally with my Celestron Astromaster 114, 12.5mm eyepiece, and Kodak P880 camera. This is not easy to do. I took over 80 shots, and this one was the best of only 3 that were even halfway clear. The view through the telescope looks better than this and has Titan visible.
looks like i've finally got the hang of using the motor drive on my telescope. it's still a bit wobbly and there's too much cloud to do a really long exposure.
so, this is my first attempt at a single longer-than-0.5s-exposure shot of the orion nebula. it's quite low on the horizon and taken from my back garden in the middle of a city on a somewhat cloudy night. looking forward to clear skies and trips to the countryside!
Advanced Optics green dot laser sight mounted on Celestron Astromaster 130AZ telescope. Designed as a firearms sight, this unit works perfectly as an astronomical tool. Once properly mounted and aligned, you simply press the remote switch and swing the telescope to point the highly visible green beam at the object you wish to observe. Fast, easy and accurate! (and relatively inexpensive...the laser unit sells on Amazon for $22, plus $9 for the rail to mount the laser to the telescope)
