Here I am singing in the FUUSoB memorial garden. Um, that's the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington, not the FU, U SOB... we couldn't call ourselves a church anymore because we were too politically active and lost our tax whatchamacallit status. We had just planted a tree in memory of our good friend ( and best man) Jakob who died a few weeks after his 30th birthday from complications of asthma. Note: Please stop smoking if you're asthmatic! Duh!

Our 100% Organic Beeswax Candles are great for cleaning the air when your family is sick but also gives off a pleasant aroma of honey. Beeswax candles give off negative ions that remove dust, dirt, odors, viruses, mold, and other pollutants from the air. Beeswax candles are great for asthmatics or anyone who is allergic or sensitive to scents. They are Non carcinogenic and Nontoxic and they don’t give off soot like other candles do. Beeswax is the only wax that exists in nature. Which means there are no processing chemicals in beeswax. Beeswax candles have a high melting point which means they have a much longer burning time than conventional wax candles
Bought some new gravel, put in my spare pump to eliminate the stagnant deadzone in the bottom left of the tank, bought a new pump that has more pumping capacity that an asthmatic mouse and re-hooked up the distribution block to two new bubblestones, one at each end of the tank.
Next up is a camera that can photograph fish at low lux. They are actually guppies.
Tagged -- 10 things
(...thanks to Ms. Sun for the tag...!)
1: It's not perfect, but I finally have a job I like since it involves what I like to do.
2: I need to re-focus on writing fiction. Big time. I've missed it. But I've been doing a bit more lately, and it feels good!
3: I need to sell my novel. Only I can get it done. I'm working on it.
4: I'm grateful for all my Flickr friends, and for the fact that taking a chance on photography is what brought you all into my life.
5: I've posted a LOT of photos in the past year and three months since joing Flickr, haven't I? Eesh. Sorry about the overload.
6: I wish it were warmer right now, like it's supposed to be; it would be nicer to walk around.
7: I need to get back to downtown Chicago. It's been too long since my last visit.
8: I learned so many new things over the past year; new trees, new insects, new birds. Again, I have photography to thank for that. And my undying curiosity.
9: I'm asthmatic and, therefore, hoping for the best with this H1N1 / Swine flu hitting all over the place.
10: I'm going to miss baseball until next spring, now that my team's out of the playoffs. ;)
There's plenty more, and this list seems kind of random, but that's the point of this Tagged thing, right?
Listen: A Music and Video Experiment
Featured video art and experimental music throughout the Murphy Art Center -- including Alchemy in Suite 3, Suite 4 next door and multiple spaces upstairs near Big Car. www.bigcar.org
Friday, March 6, 2009.
Big Car's First Friday show for March featured a bevy of local, regional, national and international video and sound artists. All of the music accompanied video art projections. The night included a show of Herron video artists in Suite 214 next door to Big Car (see artist statements below), a program of experimental videos from other local artists in Suite 3 and 4 on street level (J. Andrew Salyer, Jennie Mynhier, Laura Salyer, Jim Walker, Flounder Lee) and a Microcinema screening (FATELESS, Color + Modulation, SLIDE, Hub Culture Retrospectives: Antarctica, Independent Exposure: Asthmatic Kitty Records Edition 2008, The Collected Films of Ryan Jeffery, Op Art, Modular Moves, Jellies: The Art of Nature) also in Suite 214. For more about Microcinema visit www.microcinema.com.
The night's musical offerings in Suite 215 (Big Car's regular space) and in other nearby spaces included performances by Butler University's Ensemble 48 (playing a soundtrack to the silent film "Man with the Movie Camera"), Marck Ferrari, Ben Ishmael Revival, Shiny Black Shirt, Sea Krowns, Ensemble 48, Actuel, Playboy Psychonauts, Stallio, Sky Thing and Tonos Triad.
Also in the street level space that night, Big Car also hosted the installation "Unified Fields" that featured the interactive music and art of duo Mana2 (Jordan Munson, Michael Drews).
The event was sponsored by Microcinema and was a partnership with the Toby at the IMA.
Breath
It's strange that words are so inadequate. Yet, like the asthmatic struggling for breath, so the lover must struggle for words. T. S. Eliot Published by Vogue 10-24-13 www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Portfolio/b31ba590-03f0-4d77-a...
