Honestly, having a photography assistant is great, except when he gets too pushy and insists on getting in every picture!
I know, Harry again, but this cat is so entangled in my daily life, I can't not.
Really, he is the worst assistant ever. He types very quickly, but typos abound, and in whatever language he pleases. He steals office supplies blatantly, and gets uppity if I mention it. He also loves to intentionally jam the printer, while giving me just this look. Sometimes though, when I am overwhelmed, he kisses me and pats my head. I geuss I'll keep him.
I had a very bad morning and when I got to the office, I realized that I didn't have my computer. Logging into someone else's computer is always so awkward, that I opted for working from home. One of the benefits is that this guy gets to keep me company and meow into the phone when I'm in a brainstorm.
a famous photographer is joining gili, in order to take pictures of the new domestic style bar in Gili Air. the proud owner of the Vila Kombok can not miss the opportunity to assist the photographer personally.
Thanks a lot.
I can't believe I haven't uploaded this one already!
See Maddy in the black shirt? Well we took both girls out to Hart Park to shoot some family portraits as my wife says that since I started photography all of our friends have nice family photos and we do not.
Long story short (as possible), the day was terrible. Between hunger, bathroom breaks, tantrums (Emily hates photos), the pressure to get done quickly because a client was coming and some equipment issues, this is the best photo we got.
But it is a Keeper!
My dream is to have my little girls take an interest in photography and shoot with me someday, perhaps helping me on shoots with clients.
Maddy was so intrigued by the tripod, she wanted to know how it worked, what it did and why it wasn't a toy. :)

The commanding general of Army Material Command, GEN Ann E. Dunwoody and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, Ms. Heidi Shyu came to Afghanistan to meet with the Soldiers and Civilians, logisticians and warfighters. They visited members of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade both in Kandahar and in Bagram and received tours of several of the facilities at each.
About the 401st:
The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.

Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works Jo-Ellen Darcy accepted the invitation of Navajo Nation Council Delegate Walter Phelps to visit the Nation and speak to the 2016 Winter Council Session of the Navajo Nation Council Jan. 27.
Darcy started the day by meeting with Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye, Vice President Jonathan Nez, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District Commander Col. Kirk Gibbs, Albuquerque District Commander Lt. Col. Patrick Dagon, and their staffs.
A key topic of discussion during the session was the Nation's lack of infrastructure, particularly access to water.
"Navajo Nation leadership focused on the need for earthen dams and their ability to store and conserve water," said Gibbs. "They are in great need and I think USACE and the federal government have opportunities to help."
One of the primary goals of the USACE Tribal Nations Program is to reach out and partner with Tribes on water resources projects, a theme echoed by Darcy during her address to the council.
"We are a leader in environmental restoration and protection; about 20 percent of our annual budget is for environmental projects," said Darcy. "I'm hoping that this syncs up quite nicely with what the tribes are leading in doing and that's a lot of habitat recovery."
The USACE program also acknowledges the wisdom that Tribes bring to the table and how our programs, projects and activities are enhanced by their input.
"We're listening to, as well as applying, tribal perspectives for improving our planning process," added Darcy. "I think it's produced a better and much more sensitive approach to cultural projects that we have to be mindful of whenever we undertake a project."
District Tribal Liaison Quana Higgins stated that the Los Angeles District received fiscal 2015 funds, under the Floodplain Management Services Program, that will provide floodplain mapping for much of the Navajo Nation by August 2016.
"This type of service is invaluable for tribal nations due to data gaps on reservation lands," said Higgins. "This can promote the spirit of wise use of floodplains by tribal communities before development."
