I got this photo at sunset at a park near my house. It shows rule of thirds because the sun is in the bottom left corner, and that is clearly the focus. I think rule of thirds makes this photo much stronger and aesthetically pleasing.

GAF Photography 2007: Assignment Thread 30: Green. From where I was staying on vacation in Florida, I could see a group of catamarans beached just off a public beach in some foliage. Thinking of the theme, I went down to take some pictures, but none of them worked for me. What I really needed was a long tele to take what I could see from my balcony. Walking back I was playing with my new lens, checking out various apertures, thinking maybe of getting a all-bokeh shot of the foliage. That's when I saw the single yellow flower. At my feet. Just off the sand. And amongst the, as I was just finding out, damned prickly foliage.
My assignment for Michele was to use the following items in her work:
Staples, A Bee, An old photo of herself, red thread, and an arrow.
This assignment was trying at times, but I did have fun in completing it. The beat of the music carries through the work. It is my first attempt at creating a video with music. I created it using imovie HD. Please let me know what you think.
The Calvert Photography Club photo assignment for 03/16/2019 was "Light". We could only submit two pictures for judging. These were my attempts from which two were submitted. The subject matter consisted of a strong LED light array source, a very small glass cube(frosted on two faces), a plastic diffraction grating sheet, sometimes a plastic fresnel lens sheet, and on the bottom a sheet of very white high gloss ink jet printing paper.
It's our "rule breaking" week where we explore "Centered Composition". Often called Bull's Eye Composition, Centered Composition is generally considered too static and a taboo technique. However, a centered subject can be very arresting and dominate the composition.
For an assignment we were to photograph something to look like a countries flag. This is the vietnamese flag made of watermelon and yellow starfruit
Sherry S. works as a registered nurse in her hometown of Bradenton, Fla. Here she is exhibiting healthy behavior by wearing her seat belt and keeping her hands properly at 10 and 2 on the steering wheel.
"I've seen plenty of car accident victims at work, and I don't want to end up like them. The seat belt is the simplest step to prevent that," she said.
This was a challenging assignment...I used the healing tool and the clone stamp tool (in Photoshop) to erase threads coming from the jewelry and then I superimposed the whole thing onto a gradient, which I had smudged and blurred. Then I used the healing too1 to play around a little on the background where the jewels sit. Phew!
