Held on an evening after classes have ended, Senior Assembly is a traditional ceremony in which the Amherst College faculty honors the graduating students. After a procession into Johnson Chapel, the Dean of the Faculty opens the ceremony, and the President awards prizes and honorary class memberships. Two students and a faculty member address the graduating class, and the ceremony ends with a recessional. Photo by Maria Stenzel.

The Assembly Rooms are in central Edinburgh. Originally solely a meeting place for social gatherings, it is now also used as an arts venue and for public events, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Hogmanay celebrations. There are four rooms that are used year-round and are available for private functions: Music Hall, Ballroom, Supper Room and Edinburgh Suite. The building is protected as a category A listed building as "an outstanding example of the late 18th century public building, continuing its original use"

The Assembly Rooms opened on 11 January 1787 for the Caledonian Hunt Ball. The building was funded by public subscription, costing over ÂŁ6,000. The prominent site at the centre of George Street, in the centre of the recently established New Town, was donated by the town council. The Assembly Rooms was designed by John Henderson, a local architect, who died young shortly after the building was completed.

The building was extended several times during the 19th century. In 1818 a portico was added by William Burn. Burn and his partner David Bryce designed the Music Hall in 1843. Finally, in 1907, new side wings were completed to designs by Robert Rowand Anderson and Balfour Paul. [Wikipedia]

This is my MOC of the well-known Assembly Fortress featured in the game. Even though it isn't piece-perfect, i reckon it has a good likeness to the real thing!

The Assembly Rooms in George Street was designed by John Henderson, a local architect, who died shortly after the building was completed in 1787. His only other known work is now demolished.

The Assembly Rooms were built by public subscription, on a site given by the city, and cost over ÂŁ6,000.

A truly historic and important building, it was here that the Caledonian Ball was held for King George IV upon his visit to Edinburgh in 1822 and that Walter Scott admitted to being the author of the Waverley Novels after holding it secret for 13 years.

The huge Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Completed in 1966, the VAB was originally built to allow for the vertical assembly of the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo program. It is now used for housing external fuel tanks and flight hardware, and for assembling the Space Shuttle (i.e. mating the orbiter to the solid rocket boosters and external fuel tank).

VAB is the largest 1-story building in the world and the fourth largest by volume. It's 160 m tall, 218 m long and 158 m wide. There are four entries to the bays located inside the building, each is the largest door in the world. Each door is 139 high, so the Statue of Liberty could have passed through with ease, and takes 45 minutes to completely open or close.

The flag is 63,7 m high and 33,5 m wide, it was added in 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial celebrations. The NASA insignia or the "meatball" was added in 2008, when the building was repainted to mend visible damage from years of storms and weathering (it was damaged by Hurricane Frances in 2004).

Standard TRP clutches are manufactured with ceramic facing friction material, similar to commonly specified OEM parts on new trucks. TRP clutches made with Kevlar material are also available for vocational trucks, such as log haulers, refuse haulers, dump and cement trucks that frequently roll back and forth.

The Assembly Rooms were at the heart of fashionable Georgian society, the perfect venue for entertainment. When completed in 1771, they were described as 'the most noble and elegant of any in the kingdom'.

Designed by John Wood the Younger, the set of four public rooms was purpose-built for an 18th century form of entertainment known as an 'assembly'. A large number of guests met together to dance, drink tea, play cards and listen to music - or just walk about, talk and flirt.

There are four rooms: the Ball Room, Tea Room, Octagon Room and a Card Room.
