One of my favourite parts of landscape photography is the concept of not really being sure how an image is going to turn out until you get home. I always love going through my collected images and really exploring them with fresh eyes. This was one of those images where I wasn’t sure what would come from it. I had seen this composition a few times, but always opted for something else until this evening.

I’m thankful that I eventually attempted this composition, because the scene ended up being one of my favourites from the trip.

'Above us only sky...' ?

It makes sense that the grandeur of a sky full of stars and the 'approximately infinite universe' out there fills us with awe.

...on this speherical planet we share, 'the heavens' could be said to be also below us, wherever we are standing.

This photo is a tribute to the oh-so-worthy aspirations we humans have to aspire to greater meaning in our lives and being.

While I visited Andreas (Zypper), I created this build with his bricks.

Nearly all of the pictures were taken by him; edited by me.

Its not a good idea to use auto focus for fire, while in other hand you should just take the pic and step back from it, to avoid burning, also to keep the camera undamaged. ;)

I fell in love with this tree from the bottom of the trail and was astounded to discover it did indeed grow from this rock. It turns out it's not the only one and I have to conclude it's because of trapped moisture. (I should look it up, someone should know) I like this shot the best of the series as it has every color and element that I saw in the desert, hope ya'll like it too. (blow it up to enjoy it best) :-)

I noticed the last few shots I uploaded are of people with statues. Odd and unplanned.

Passed this bridge many times on my photography walks, but hestitation has stopped me from photographing it.Not today! :-)

Drew wants to grow up and become a superhero, so I try to equip him with everything he may need.

Looking more like a glorified local than a road train, Q559 hustles south at Peterson Road at the south end of Piqua siding, with dual thirty eight dash twos. (I-75 is the bridge in the background.) I wonder if the hogger thinks Miller Lite tastes great or is less filling?

She is an ambitious model with high aspirations. After driving, hiking, and climbing up to the top of the world, Lauren strikes a breezy pose. It was 39 degrees fahrenheit, wind chill of 15 degrees with 35 MPH winds. All in a days work for an aspiring model.

We picked a sunny September day to drive up into the Mt Evans Wilderness Area. The highest highway in North America, the drive winds up through gloriously colorful aspen groves, then through an ancient bristlecone pine tree forest. It continues past gorgeous alpine lakes and fearless, windswept mountain goats on the way to a parking lot near the summit. From the parking lot we hiked up a trail to the summit at 14,271 ft (4,350 m) elevation.

The Bridge of Aspiration connects London's Royal Opera House to the Royal Ballet School. Built by Wilkinson Eyre Architects and spiraling high above the ground over Floral Street in Covent Garden, its distinctive form has led to it being nicknamed 'the twisted concertina'.

Finn and I saw it today while wandering around London. A lovely day, great weather, my first outing with my new lens - and it's my first non-square shot in ages! There is a square version too and I was so, so tempted to post it but the family said NO!!!

Though minute size, what lies in front, whether it be your goals, or aspirations, is always there. All you have to do is look straight ahead.

It looks like a beautiful weekend here on the west coast of North America. Nature is in full bloom and the sun is going to be our friend. Blue skies and explosions.

Have a great Thursday leading into Frididdy and the fun to follow.

Though seemingly fully laden, this ambitious fellow appears intent on gathering more from this "mother lode" of pollen...even to the point of losing some in his efforts. There seem to be many lessons, good and bad, to be learned from bees.

Some ideas I have in mind for 2022.

A satellite tracking ship done in play scale, so nothing too fancy or accurate, simple blocky brick-built bow and things like that. A bridge for minifigures, one or two interior sections.

More black and white photos.

I'm slowly stockpiling yellow bricks to do some kind of modular or simple underwater base, in Aquanauts/Aquazone colours, minifig scale with interiors.

I want to try a modular-style home or apartment block with stickers or printed artwork on the walls in a very colourful style. Like giant murals or something. Stickers from redbubble.com or somesuch.

And more Hibernia vehicles. I'm working on one at the moment as it's bloody hot here in Melbourne (37 Celsius today and 38 tomorrow) and I've trying to astral-project myself to a lovely frigid snow world...

Disclaimer: some or all of these ideas might never actually be built owing to my puerile attention span :-)
