Standing out from the crowd.
Taken for Macro Mondays theme "misfit". I only fired off about 15 shots for this one, and I ended using the very first of them all. Having settled on that, I figured I might as well also post it without any post-processing. So that's what I did. No cropping at all, no rotating, no brightness adjustment, no sharpening (except the pencils, haha). The only thing I did was resize to 2048w, my normal size for posting to Flickr.

[Handheld in daylight with the 50mm prime for the blurry bits...
Developed in Capture One.
Into Affinity for cropping (a tricky decision - hope it works!).
Mangled first in Nik Color Efex for blurs, tones, and attention to the main flower (centre right), vignette.
Converted to Monochrome in Silver Efex, with some extra localised work on the main flower, and the anthers.]

Upper Antelope Canyon, Page, Arizona
We did not get the photographer's tour as they were all sold out. We went with a regular tour with lots of tourists at 1:00 PM. I can only imagine what it would have been like had we got on the midday tour when the sunlight would shine directly down the floor of the slot canyon. It was so dark I had to shoot this with ISO 12800.
ps. I beheaded a few fellow tourists at the bottom of the frame :)

Another view from Schwbacher's Landing in Grand Teton National Park....the trail that encompasses this area offers such splendid & breathtaking views no matter where you're standing.
