Aspen trees with fog and winter snow; Crater Lake Highway near Fort Klamath, Oregon.

Ohio Pass, Colorado at sunrise. The morning I took this, I was tired and cranky because I had just slept on an uncomfortable couch in a church basement and maybe slept for 3 hours. Although the basement was heated (which was a blessing compared to the previous night of teeth chattering cold), I wasn't in the "mood" for photography.

When I was taking pictures of this scene, all of my reservations got thrown away and I was able to enjoy the beautiful morning out with two good friends. I'm thankful that God breaks me of my stubbornness and pride so I can appreciate His creation and try to capture a glimpse of it!

Wasatch National Forest. Summit County, Utah.

We drove on parts of the Peak to Peak highway through the mountains. Came to the town of Rollinsville, population 181 and just about as many bikers gathered at The Stage Stop. A post office has been in operation in Rollinsville since 1871. From there we turned off on the Rollins Pass road. That turns into Moffat Road, which I have never been on before, and held some nice surprises!

10/18/08 - I went to Picnic Rock again this morning. I have now shot at this area in all four seasons. This is easily my favorite shot of the bunch. I will be posting more as I get them processed. It was amazing to me how low the river gets at the end of summer. This is three images, one stop apart HDR and tonemapped with Photomatix.

OK, I know that many of you are longing for this time of year again, as do I, but for many different reasons. Obviously the leaves for most are hidden under deep layers of snow, whether it be inches or feet, right about now in the middle of winter.

For this Florida girl though, the yellowed fallen leaves congregating for their last hooray on the green carpeted grassy landscape is one of the most beautiful sights. I hope that this image reminds many of you that most certainly the winter will end ... seasons will advance ... and soon enough, the beauty of autumn will be all around us again.

In 2016, we visited the Snowmass area and while Tom caught a bit of sleep, I went off on my own seeking out scenes like this. I'm far from creative when it comes to landscape composition, but that doesn't mean that I don't like to try. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by to view and Happy Hump Day!
