The moon was cold and barren, but it held a secret that would change the course of history. Two explorers, one human and one alien, had landed on its surface, unaware of each other's presence. They were both on a mission to discover new worlds and expand their horizons.
The human, a young astronaut from America, had been sent by NASA to collect samples and study the geology of the moon. He was wearing a white space suit with the American flag on an arm band. He had a helmet that allowed him to communicate with his team and a backpack that contained his tools and equipment.
The alien, a graceful being from a distant planet, had been sent by its own civilization to observe and learn from other life forms. It had a slender body with grey skin and large black eyes that sparkled with curiosity. It had a device that enabled it to breathe and communicate with its spacecraft.
They both wandered around the moon, exploring its craters and mountains, until they saw each other from afar. They stopped in their tracks, stunned by the sight of another intelligent being. They felt a mix of fear and wonder, but also a sense of connection. They decided to approach each other, slowly and cautiously, hoping for a peaceful encounter.
They met in a valley, under the light of a giant planet that loomed over the moon. They stared at each other, trying to comprehend the differences and similarities between them. They sensed a mutual respect and curiosity, and a desire to communicate. They reached out their hands, a gesture of friendship and goodwill, and clasped them together. They felt a warm and electric sensation, as if their souls had touched.
They smiled, and in that moment, they knew they had made history. They had bridged the gap between two worlds, and opened the door to a new era of discovery and cooperation. They had become the first ambassadors of an interstellar relationship that would last for generations to come.

I recycled my prompt from a previous result, and this time I also used it as a input image. This is my fourth try with the input image, setting the prompt strength to 90% to get, as expected, a completely different result.

Subject Description This is not an image that I set out to produce but the outcome of a lost battle with AI. Of the constituent companies of the LNER, only the Great Central and Great Northern Railways had progressed from 0-8-0 to 2-8-0 locomotive designs. The North Eastern Railway stuck with 0-6-0s so there is no factual basis to this image.
AI Notes: This image is as remarkable as it is wrong. Remarkable because it’s based on a large-scale model photographed under fluorescent light at a model railway exhibition. Wrong because that model was a North Eastern Railway T2 Class 0-8-0 (unusually in NER lined green livery) and Gemini AI was simply tasked with making it look real. After a failed first attempt, it was explicitly instructed to retain the 0-8-0 wheel arrangement and not add additional wheels, but it persisted in offering-up this fictional 2-8-0 design. Other spurious details, such as brass nameplates over the middle pair of splashers and the addition of a BR-era shed plate, suggest that it had been cobbled it together from bits of other images scraped from the internet. I wouldn’t ordinarily publish something like this (there's enough AI rubbish on the internet) but have made an exception because it illustrates so well the power and pitfalls of the technology. I’ve finished the image in Photoshop, removing some of the spurious details (but not the extra wheels) and adding the missing NER initials (29-Jan-26).
