This is a one in a billion nanoparticle. It did not resist the extreme temperature conditions it was submitted to during its formation, and literally burst from the inside, expelling water vapour from the pores, thus creating that intricate nanostructure that reminds me of a brain. Nano-brain would be more accurate, as its diameter is about 500 nm, that is roughly 200 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.
The other nanoparticles that can be seen in the foreground and the background did not burst, and were able to act as a catalyst for carbon nanotube growth. Interestingly, noticing this one in a billion nanoparticle among all the others gave us the idea to change our synthesis method in order to selectively produce these “nano-brains” on purpose, as their porosity and high surface area is of interest to advanced energy storage devices.
The picture was taken using a scanning electron microscope allowing to capture details smaller than the wavelength of light.
With Artemis, NASA's working to build a sustainable human presence on the Moon, and AI robots will be an important part of that. They will help build new structures, perform inspections, gather data from previously unexplored areas and perform science experiments to help us understand the environment.
AI has the potential to do many things that a human cannot. They can produce solutions to problems quickly and allow for decisions to be made autonomously that would require significant human power to complete. AIs are a way for us to continue to explore beyond our atmosphere and soon beyond our solar system.

Author Isaac Asimov devised a set of rules to be incorporated into robots as a safety feature, called the Three Laws of Robotics:
"A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law."
This online program aims to provide a fundamental understanding of Artificial Intelligence and create an awareness of the importance of this topic. Furthermore, the participants are given the opportunity to engage with this topic in depth and to develop first concepts of what AI means for their own organization.

The work consists of a series of aesthetic experiments to make processes of artificial neural networks human perceivable through audiovisual translation. Exp. # 1 examines the inner behavior during the prediction and learning process. Exp. # 2 questions the ability of an AI for empathy and purpose while communicating with a second AI.

I renamed her Arya after one of my favourite characters from the 'Song of Ice and Fire' book series (nowadays more commonly known by the TV series 'Game of Thrones').
In honour of her 5th birthday, I took photos of her in the same outfit she had when she arrived.

This is a special magnification focused on the titanium tube containing the sample that will be returned to Earth via the NASA Mars Sample Return mission. I find artificial intelligence image producing systems amazing and frequently ask them to generate a self-portrait just to see what I get. Another example from the DALLE-2 program is two posts back. Both are apparently female, although I have to say DALLE-2 is "sharper" than Dream.😊 My creations are very basic. Prompting these systems is an art in itself, and people who are good at it can produce some amazing images. You should check it out. AI is going to end the careers of a lot of professional photographers.
This is my handwriting when I try VERY hard to write nicely. It's normally a *LOT* messier which is why I prefer write in capital letters than in my handwriting.
