Follow the steps in this article to pair your remote with your DISH receiver. Steps may vary depending on what type of remote you have.
1. Find the five-digit code for your device. The DISH remote control is preprogrammed with codes for popular devices, but if you have a different type of equipment, use these steps to find the 5-digit code that works best with your equipment.
2. Turn on your TV or other devices and make sure they are powered on.
3. Turn on your DISH receiver or satellite dish. Make sure the orange light is lit.
4. Point the remote control at your TV and press "TV" once (or whatever code number matches). If multiple devices are turned on, you may need to try several codes before finding one that works.
5. Turn off your TV and other devices (if they are on). Press the power button on the remote to test if it turns on.
