My article, "New Ideas for the Musician Resume" was published in the Allegro, the newspaper of the New York musicians' union.
While having a cup of coffee and browsing Lifehacker this morning, I glanced at a headline of mild interest: "Five Useless Gadgets You Should Throw in the Trash Right Now" and thought I'd check it out.
After the jump, I was surprised to see a photo I had taken sitting atop the Wired article. I snapped it a couple years ago, when my good friend Mike and I decided to take a misbehaving company fax machine around back and beat it into a toxic pile of plastic splinters and wire.
I think it's cool to see my photo out in the wild like this, but you guys at Wired could have at least asked for my permission. I know your mag has been going down the tubes lately, but manners are timeless.

The headstone for the grave of Mr Joseph Dowling.
I have found the following information from newspapers of the region.
Goulburn Evening Penny Post (NSW : 1881 - 1940) View title info Tue 31 Jul 1894 | Page 4 | DALTON.
It is my painful duty to chronicle the death of our much respected fellow townsman, Mr. Joseph Dowling, which took place at his residence (the Dalton Hotel) on Tuesday evening last. Mr. Dowling caught cold some five or six weeks ago, which resulted in inflammation of the lungs. He was attended during his illness by Drs. Jos. English, Yass, and W. H. Tippets, Gunning, who did all that skill and energy could to pull him through, and indeed it was thought that their efforts would be successful, until a few days ago, when Mr. Dowling had a relapse through catching a chill, which brought on bronchitis, to which he succumbed as above stated. Being a native of this locality he was well known and respected by all classes of the community. He leaves behind him a sorrowing widow and five children, for whom there is felt universal sympathy. His remains were interred here to-day, the Rev. J. H. Williams conducting the solemn service, in the presence of about 300 persons, who had come from far and near to pay their last tribute of respect to one who had spent his life among us. The deceased had been a member of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows for some years past, and a good number of the craft from Gunning and Yass, as well as the members of the local lodge, who were all clothed in regalia, marched in processionto the grave, there to assist in performing the last rites over a worthy and respected brother.

News was received in town on Wednesday of the death of Mr. Joseph Dowling, publican, of Dalton. Mr. Dowling had been suffering for some weeks from a painful illness. He appears to have had a relapse, as a week ago it was reported that he was recovering.
