Detroit Downtown, MI, USA

Nineteen thirty-one. Lately it's getting to where you have to specify!

The openness of the parking lot makes the building easy to see. For this one I posed my 2000 Ford F-150 Lariat in front of the building.

Seeing Stereolab perform at the historic Wiltern Theatre (built in 1931) in Koreatown in Los Angeles

I think this is a former Burton store! You can spot them a mile off! The blue painted? section is rather attractive. The building was in a narrow street, I need to return at some point for another 'go' at the frontage with my DSLR :-)

Dec.14-16, 2018: We spent weekend in Alameda, California, USA. Views of a small portion of the amazing variety of home architecture there.

Designed by Stanley A. Heaps (1880–1962), this was a modernist station that used to look like this - www.ltmcollection.org/images/webmax/30/9873730.jpg (London Transport Museum).

Sometime after its construction, a block of flats was added, the look is vaguely 1960s, but either way it is quite dated.

At Celeste Barber's performance at the historic Wiltern Theatre (from 1931) in Koreatown in Los Angeles

A famous fountain in Los Angeles, near Griffith Park. This fountain is quite often used for wedding party and Quincenera photo shoots during the day on most Saturdays and Sundays. I like the fountain best at night. It is often lit up and sometimes the colors are ever changing. I used to drive by late at night (or more like very early in the morning) on the way home from work and always wanted to stop and photograph it. I either never had my camera with me or was dead tired and sleepy...

From Lower Plaza, Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center was sponsored by, and named after, John D Rockefeller Jr. (1874-1960). The development consists of 14 Art Deco buildings, designed by Raymond Mathewson Hood (1881-1934) and constructed between 1930-39, plus 4 International-Style buildings built in the 1960-70s.

The only project employed 40,000 people, and cost an estimated $250m at the time (this included the acquiring the land and demolishing some existing buildings).
