2006 Nine sculptures: approximately 20’H x 30”W x 16”D each Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ Light / Perforated pre-rusted and sealed steel Five Luminarias located in the medians on Central Avenue and another four, act as a gateway over the Central Arizona Canal Bridge, creating excitement in this newly refurbished small business district. The sculptures are illuminated at night.

This was a great introduction to the world of robotics. Everyone learned to create a basic circuit, what a short circuit is, how to mount and power a motor to create a one-of-a-kind moving robot and then the invention and creativity took hold. Even the on lookers had to get in on the action! Great job Ben Finio, Maria Christopher and Daymaker Lavon! — at Soha SMART.

2004 Sculpture: 30’H x 30’W x18”D Railing: 500’L New York Avenue Metro Station, Downtown, Washington, D.C. Leaf: Aluminum / Light Railing: Steel Journeys is a collaboration with Dolores Kendrick, Poet Laureate of Washington D.C. Her poetry enriches the pedestrian experience. The integration of words into the artwork contributes to the multi-layered, richly textured public space. The leaf is illuminated from within at night, providing a beacon of light at the entrance to the station.
