for the Macro Mondays challenge “Arrow” (December 5th 2016)
I've been laid low by a winter 'flu bug, so this is a shot I took for 'Backlit' some weeks ago. The chess pieces are Swarovski crystal - and the facets of glass act as prisms for sunlight, creating arrows of rainbow light. The 3 chess figures fit easily onto the credit card 3"x2" limit. See in the first comment field ;o)
Shot using the Helios 44-2 lens at min focussing distance of 0.5 and F4
Happy Macro Monday to everyone!

Arrows of light, come
Pierce my soul
Pierce my soul
Breath of the bright wind

Back to 1987...I was in Palenque during a vacation travel thru Mexico . In this phenomenal place I met an Indian who sold me a bow and arrows - handsmade - this a is really good reminder of this trip.
Of course the picture was taken a few days ago, not in 1987 and not in Mexico - but I localized it to the place where I got this souvenir.
... life goes on :-D
Tollymore forest park. Loved the way these created an arrow. Just a bot of rot really. But apt for today.

Natural rock formation far east side of the beach of Nafitelia. South west of france. Beautiful and raw. A surfer beach mainly. Superb rock formation all around the creek.
Five days spent in Les Landes region of France. A real adventure, between fishing, eating the fish, admiring beautiful landscape and the quiteness of the pine forests or dealing with my car breaking down at the spanish boarder.

Photographers love breaking storms in Yosemite Valley. We were especially lucky to have the clouds break at end of day, providing some spectacular light on Lost Arrow Spire, with Upper Yosemite Falls in shadow to the left. There is a light dusting of snow on the upper elevations, more snow and ice in the valley.
