This is a bit bigger than full frame - I chopped Red 1's nose off and had to stitch it back on from another photo. Had I known they would be as close as they were I'd had put a shorter one on...!

The Red Arrows taking part in their display at the Scottish Airshow. This was a first for the Red Arrows since the Airshow appeared back on the calendar and it was the usual faultless and exciting display.
The RAF Red Arrows Display Team flying Bae Hawk trainer aircraft. Always a great display but hard to capture on canvas.

This is an ANTIQUE Japanese Large Patterned Komon. Komon are informal kimono worn at home and about town. They are essentially the jeans and t-shirt combo of the kimono world. The smaller the pattern on a komon, the more casual it is. This one has a somewhat large pattern, so it's a less casual piece. This kimono likely originates in the early Showa Period (1926 - 1989), most likely the 1930's or 40's. Ths kimono features a chic woven pattern of arrows. There are also stripes of fabric with a lovely sheen to it. This kimono's colour is best represented in the detail photo.
I have inspected this kimono in detail, and I only found a few of small, stains on the both the interior or exterior. However, most of these marks will be hidden when worn, the others are not prominent. Overall I would rate this kimono as being in excellent antique condition. There are no tears, holes or seam separations. This kimono can be worn. I believe this garment is 100% silk.

SIZING:
If you are unsure of how to interpret the kimono's size it is important to know that the length (collar - hem) should be approximately 10cm longer to 10cm shorter than the wearer's overall height (longer is better). This is because the excess length will be folded up at the waist. Meanwhile, the skirt should wrap around the hips a full 1.5 times. The armspan should also reach wrist to wrist on the wearer. In this case, the kimono will ideally fit a woman about 136cm (4'6") - 156cm (5'1") tall, with hips about 87cm (34") around. There is some give and take in these measurements though.

The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, is the aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force. Based at RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, UK, they are soon to move to RAF Waddington. They were formed in late 1964 as an all-RAF team, replacing a number of unofficial teams that had been sponsored by RAF commands.
The Red Arrows badge shows the aircraft in their trademark diamond nine formation, with the motto Éclat, a French word meaning "brilliance" or "excellence".
Initially, they were equipped with seven Folland Gnat trainers inherited from the RAF Yellowjacks display team. This aircraft was chosen because it was less expensive to operate than front-line fighters. In their first season, they flew at 65 shows across Europe. In 1966, the team was increased to nine members, enabling them to develop their Diamond Nine formation. In late 1979, they switched to the BAE Hawk trainer. The Red Arrows have performed over 4,000 displays worldwide in 53 countries
