This is from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory Very Large Array. This was the place where they filmed the movie Contact.
There are 27 individual antennas arranged in a Y shape that can expand to be the equivalent of a single radio telescope 22 miles wide.
Each individual telescope is 94 feet tall with a dish diameter of 82 feet and a focal length of f/0.35 The antenna each weigh 235 tons.
Truly an impressive piece of technology!
The VLA (Very Large Array) west of Socorro, New Mexico seen from 36,000 feet. The VLA was made famous by the movie Contact. I imagined looking down and seeing "Elly" listening for ET on the hood of her car. :) Please see large version.

Pilosella aurantiaca, a member of the daisy family and known as 'Fox-and-Cubs' because of the tawny orange flower and array of flower buds at its base. Thanks to MW for the identification.
The Combined Array for Research in Millimeter-wave Astronomy (CARMA) was an astronomical instrument comprising 23 radio telescopes. These telescopes formed an astronomical interferometer where all the signals are combined in a purpose-built computer (a correlator) to produce high-resolution astronomical images. The telescopes ceased operation in April 2015 and were relocated to the Owens Valley Radio Observatory for storage.
