The final RoadRailer train rounds the big sweeping curve just east of Jacksonville Illinois at a location known as Arnold.

The RoadRailer service was long rumored to end, as the Detroit to Kansas City train was the final pair of trains that were still running. But the day finally came that this type of train is now just a memory. This being the final ever westbound run to Kansas City from Detroit, making it the last ever RoadRailer train in the country. The last westbound run out of Kansas City happened the day prior. Running as NS trains 255 westbound and 256 eastbound these trains were undoubtedly the trains to see on this section of the Norfolk Southern System.

I was at Bear Camp last June during the bear rut. We had a couple close encounters with sows but none with males and thank goodness we never had a close encounter with this bear. I was calling him the Arnold Schwarzenegger bear because he was HUGE and he looked ripped in terms of muscles! Here he gives us a look as he crosses the tidal flats, with some shadows and mud on him. It was great to see him but this was as close as I ever want to be to a bear like him!

Unfortunately Bear Camp, like many tourist businesses in Alaska, didn't open this year due to COVID-19.

The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is an arboretum located in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale sections of Boston, Massachusetts. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and is the second largest "link" in the Emerald Necklace.

I shot this while testing my lighting before I really got going. It turned out to be my favorite image of the day. I was commissioned to shoot promos for Dan's as of now unnamed side project.

Arnolds Hill on the main A40 road through Pembrokeshire in Wales, is quite a long, steep hill. Seen from a distance, as here, the hill itself doesn't seem to be very steep at all... more of a long, gentle rise!

When I checked Arnold's Lounge out on google, I discovered that the section of sign that says "lounge and dancing" used to be in neon, and said "food fun & spirits" -- I wonder if the current panel is removed, will the old neon be revealed? I am glad they kept the rest of the old sign intact.
