Army wants to be Jet, a dash of the Strokes, and perhaps a smidge of broken Fender fretboard.
Their sound onstage was pretty polished, and although I shot these at their EP release show, I expected to hear something a little different on the album itself.
What I got was a clearer take on the addition of the lead singer's harmonica, which was easily my favorite touch (okay, maybe it was the guitar he smashed and then kicked at my face as I kneeled, lens pushed forward...).
The bottom line is that Army is a fun band to watch. I'm looking forward to hearing a full-length from them, hopefully with a little diversification. I'm also crossing my fingers for some more time with them offstage. They would be fun guys to shoot and toss back a couple'a could ones with.
