Canadian Army personnel conducted Exercise MARITIME RAIDER (Ex MR 12) at the Virginia National Guard Maneuver Training Center, Fort Pickett, Virginia, from March 1 to 11, 2012.

Approximately 500 soldiers from 37 Canadian Brigade Group (37 CBG) comprised of Canadian Army Reserve units in New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, participated in Ex MR 12. The exercise provides Canadian participants the opportunity to train side by side in a multi-national task force environment. Units from the U.S. Army, Navy, Army National Guard and Air Force will participate in the training providing the Canadians the opportunity to operate and train with their U.S. counterparts in an effort to develop their interoperability skills and build strong ties.

Ex MR 12 provided the participants with the opportunity to apply lessons learned during previous training to further develop their abilities to respond to situations as they happen and prepare them for future deployment at home and abroad.

Murai Urban Training Facility to Hone the SAF's Networked Urban Operations Capability.

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean launched the Murai Urban Training Facility (MUTF) and witnessed about 500 soldiers securing an objective in an urban operations exercise this afternoon. The exercise involved seven-man tactical sections which were equipped with the Advanced Combat Man System (ACMS).

The introduction of the ACMS is part of the 3rd Generation SAF's move to progressively provide tactical units with network capabilities. With the section commanders and team leaders equipped with the ACMS, the entire section becomes part of a larger network that is able to tap on the wider resources of the battalion and call for more responsive and precise fire support. These sections function not only as fighting units but also as ground sensors, tracking the positions of friendly and hostile forces and feeding images back to the command headquarters for enhanced command and control of the battlefield. With the ACMS, the section's situational awareness, lethality and survivability are enhanced.

Located within the existing Lim Chu Kang training area, the MUTF allows the SAF to conduct urban operations training in a realistic environment. It is built to resemble a typical town and offers a range of training scenarios from tactical engagements to combined arms manoeuvres, Other than buildings, the MUTF also has ancillary features like bus stops, traffic lights and overhead bridges. The facility will be equipped with tools that help simulate varying operational environments as well as a video monitoring and recording system to facilitate effective learning.

Exercise Talisman Sabre 2021 (TS21) is the largest bilateral training activity between Australia and the United States, commencing on 14 July 2021.

Held every two years, TS21 aims to test Australian interoperability with the United States and other participating forces in complex warfighting scenarios. In addition to the United States, TS21 involves participating forces from Canada, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

The exercise includes a Field Training Exercise incorporating force preparation (logistic) activities, amphibious landings, ground force manoeuvres, urban operations, air combat and maritime operations. Activities will peak from 18 - 31 July across Queensland.

TS21 is a major undertaking for all attending nations and demonstrates the combined capability to achieve large-scale operational outcomes within a COVID-19 safe environment.

Military members who attend the Common Army Phase II (CAP) training will build upon the leadership training you received in Phase I and develop the skills required of all Army officers, including more advanced weapons-handling, field-craft, and section-level tactics conducted at the Combat Training Centre in Gagetown, New Brunswick, or at Camp Aldershot. They are also introduced to CF operations in austere environments and to basic tactical planning and manœuvring. This aspect of training is physically and mentally challenging.

Bunker search uncovers enemy weapons

An airborne operation into an insurgent stronghold in Afghanistan has resulted in a significant find of weapons and bomb making equipment. The 12th Mechanized Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF), made up of soldiers and officers from the Light Dragoons, known as The Northern Cavalry, pushed into the area of Shorokay in the Upper Gereshk Valley as part of Operation Daas searching a complex bunker system.

Trooper Jamie Lough (24), of the Light Dragoons, said: “We were straight into patrolling through the caves and bunkers. It was incredibly dark and full of alleyways and crevices that we had to search. When we made the finds, it felt really good to get it all off the ground, out of the insurgents’ hands as it’s going to save a lot more lives. 29th August 2012

Google translation so sorry for it being a bit mangled

The various functions in the Swiss Army:

The Texture (sniper rifle with scope) is armed with the Fass 90 with the old Kern 4x scope. Currently, they are distributed directly into combat groups (the patrol has two exploration for example).

Sharpshooter (TE) that specialty is only present in the infantry for training of militia (and was gren). For the rifle, they are recruited among the best are sent to Texture Isone follow a special course of six weeks. They are armed with rifles Finnish Sako TRG 42 of 8.6 mm. There is a section in each TE was defeated in the support company. In addition to these training militias, it is obvious that the professional training of the Army as the Military or RAD 10 is formed on the weapon.

Marksman, it is essentially the Grenadier with 4 more weeks (6 for the TE) of training with on a second weapon, the French rifle PGM Hecate II 12.7mm. This rifle is used in the Swiss Army use only on anti vehicle or equipment missions.
