The Menara gardens are located to the west of Marrakech, Morocco, at the gates of the Atlas mountains. They were built in the 12th century (c. 1130) by the Almohad ruler Abd al-Mu'min.
The name menara derives from the pavillon with its small green pyramid roof (menzeh). The pavilion was built during the 16th century Saadi dynasty and renovated in 1869 by sultan Abderrahmane of Morocco, who used to stay here in summertime.
The pavilion and basin (an artificial lake) are surrounded by orchards and olive groves. The intention of the basin was to irrigate the surrounding gardens and orchards using a sophisticated system of underground channels called a qanat. The basin is supplied with water thanks to an old hydraulic system which conveys water from the mountains located 30 km approximately away from Marrakech.
Uptown Station entrance to the underground.
Glass seems to be in use more than ever in architecture, particularly outdoors. The reflection in the building in the background is from across the highway at City Place.
You can see that they need to clean the glass at the Uptown Station.

Park Guell
150 foto's teruggekregen...
De overige waren niet meer te redden...
In this park my memory card crashed. Just brand new, losing 200 photo's.
No cardreader could read the card anymore.
A collegue of mine from system administration, who is a photographer himself, managed to rescue parts of it.
150 photo's were recovered.
The remaining photo's were definitely lost.
MERIT OF EXCELLENCE, Arcitecture Amateurs, Black and White Spider Awards 2013.
Is this contest any serious or just a scam. Its a pretty expensive comp so I`m not sure what to make of it.
Another issue is that this shot is fairly overexposed. The cloud there is totally burned. I was not happy with it initially. But that might be what caught the judges attention. The clouds are perfectly placed though. Looks like the building is on fire..
