This is what the hydraulic pistion sits in, bathed in oil. This could also be used as a footing for a skyscraper, because IT'S BUILT LIKE A TANK.

Makes me wonder if this is a signage from a grand hotel which was trendy and famous in its heyday. Where is it from? Did anyone famous stay there? Any scandals? It has definitely seen better days...

There's the fluted creme-colored column, which is cast iron with a porcelain veneer. It's a beast. Inside is the cast iron support column that serves as the main load-bearing point for the upper chair assembly. My back is killing me.
