Another blast from the past. In the summer of 1992 I traveled some of Europe. While I was in Vienna I met a young lady from Slovenia. I fell in love with her and we spent all night walking the streets of Vienna.
After meeting her I was convinced to visit the capitol city of Ljubljana. Keep in mind Serbia and Croatia were still neck deep in civil unrest at this time. I went to the U.S. consulate in Vienna and they asked on what day I would be returning. I should check in with them when i did return, and if for some reason all hell broke loose do not expect the Marines.
So, I said to hell with that and went anyway! I am so glad I did. The place is unbelievable. To go to a city where one architects work has so profoundly changed the way people view and live in a city happens in places only like Vienna with Otto Wagner, or Oak Park and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Not a bad shot if I do say so myself. Note early Gehry's restrained palette both materially and gesturally - he seems to be riffing on the Modernist "white box" architecture - more thoughts on that to come later...

'analysis…' combines the roughness of 'galactic supermarket' and 'i went out shopping... - the result is a balance between breaks, sound-bits and ambience.

MIRAZOZO luminarium is a sculpture people enter to be immersed in radiant light and colour. Since 1992 Architects of Air's luminaria have enchanted over 2 million visitors in 37 countries around the world.
MIRAZOZO is inspired by the beauty of natural geometry and by Islamic architecture. It features winding passages of small domes inspired by repetitious forms found in the bazaars of Iran.
The luminosity of light and colour inside MIRAZOZO is created purely by the light shining through the coloured plastic. All the individual pieces have been cut & glued together by hand in our workshop in Nottingham, England.
