This is perhaps one of the most photgenic bridges in South Bend, IN. historicbridges.org/bridges/browser/?bridgebrowser=indian...

Last night at 10:45pm, William McIntosh sent me a text, "70% chance of awesome sunrise at Leo Carrillo Beach". I immediately declined and he sent back "Boo". After checking Bill's conclusions on NWS and Skyfire it only took 30 secs to succumb. Alright I'm in, I replied. Again I would have to be up and ready to go in 5 hours. Forget it I'm not going to be able to sleep I thought to myself and I was right. I spent the next 4 hours studying and watching Youtube videos about photography locations. I have now been awake for 36 hours straight.

During our last trip to Malibu Beach, Bill and I ran into another photographer on the beach that turned out to be a real nice guy. While we where loading up the car Bill had ask him if he knew of any other interesting spots in the vicinity to shoot. The man says that just up Pacific Coast Highway about 10 miles was a cool little spot that he liked to shoot on occasion. A little spot found around lifeguard shack three just passed the parking area he says. It was already after Golden hour but Bill and I decided to go and scout it out for a future trip. What we found was such a cool location which we were "Surprised" to find included a double arch, several small sandy beaches, a flat reef shelf and a pass through cave leading to a little hidden beach while during sunrise has a beautiful glow entering it from the east. This is a shot of one side of the double arch, the view of the double arch can only be captured during the point of lowest tide but during high tide it is possible to capture one side of the arch which is seen here. The sky exploded with color and Bill has now dubbed me his lucky charm after 7 of our last 8 excursions were blessed with fantastic light. I'll take those odds anyday. Funny thing, I was just thinking the same about him. Hehe. Hope you like it!!! If you do please leave a quick comment.

Landscape Arch in Arches National Park

Long exposure of the sunset sky passing by and through The Windows at Arches National Park.

Double Arch was formed differently from most of the arches in Arches National Park, an area with the largest concentration of natural arches in the entire world.

Double Arch is what is known as a pothole arch formed by water erosion from above rather than more typical erosion from the side. The larger opening has a span of 148 feet and a height of 104 feet.

There are no guardrails or fences to prevent visitors from exploring directly beneath and through the arches.

One of the many features at Arches National Park. This one requires a bit of a hike to get up close.

Arches National Park, Utah

Delicate Arch is a 65-foot-tall (20 m) freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, USA

The Arch is one of the highlights of Arches National Park and is possibly the most beautiful arch in the world. This arch needs to be experienced in person to be really appreciated.

Resting on top of a huge sandstone formation, the world-famous site offers spectacular views of the La Sal snow capped Mountains..

Ferrol - Castillo de San Felipe

Well, really Turret Arch, but a angle that makes the formation there really pronounced against the sky. Also liked the tree there growing out of the red earth and rock.

Late in the day there in Arches National Park.

A natural sandstone arch in southeastern Utah south of Moab. The arch was named after Joe Wilson, a local pioneer who had a cabin nearby.

This arch was a surprise to me as it’s along the road and really easy to access, in fact you could photograph from the car and get a good shot. But I didn’t, I got closer and adjusted for clouds.

If planning to phot, the afternoon is best so you have the sun at your back

Snow-peaked La Sal Mountains tower above Salt Valley.

Pergamon

was an ancient Greek city in Aeolis, currently located 26 kilometres (16 mi) from the Aegean Sea on a promontory on the north side of the river Caicus (modern-day Bakırçay).

Today, the main sites of ancient Pergamon are to the north and west of the modern city of Bergama in Turkey.

Moody clouds around on this cool summer evening in Arches. Stitched together here four captures taken hand held showing all the hikers enjoying this location as well. They give a great sense of scale to the scene.

Bushes and trees around the rock structure called ... Balanced Rock.

A composite shot of the Arch Rock in Valley of Fire. When I think of "Arch Rocks" I think huge geological structures created by the forces of nature over time. The Arch Rock in Valley of Fire State Park, is about 10 feet across. If you look for it near the sign, you may have difficulty finding it. It took me 3 visits to find it. I call it Secret Arch Rock.
