Richest Christmas blessings to all as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child and mark the advent of His return.

Made by Startrails App from 189 images captured at 17s intervals 14mm F2.8 15s ISO640. Same images were used to create the time-lapse. Nine of that set (from the middle) were used to create the "Still" of the Milky Way.

Interestingly this is the easiest of the 'types' to make. Whether you use Startrails or a different app (e.g. Photoshop) one basically would use a LIGHTEN blend mode that "simply" uses the lightest bits of each image. Since the first image in the sequence is the lightest and cleanest exposure for the land (as it's progressively getting darker) that basically 'comes through' without needing to do any manual masking.

The "trick" is to make one's star-trails FIRST because one does NOT need to exposure ramp the images for star trails (since the light emitted by the stars does NOT change during the sequence). 15s / ISO640 / F2.8 is probably my 'default' exposure for stars ... at least in/around Melbourne.

Ethan told me what it isn't and I have gone through all the ducks in my book and nothing looks like this one. But the plumage in November could be different. and this was late afternoon light. So I would very much appreciate if someone can please help solve this mystery.

Problem solved! After the Merlin app picked up a male Redhead, but in breeding plumage, I spoke with one of my birder friends. She said this is a non-breeding male Redhead. A first for me to see one that looks like this. Thank you to everyone for suggestions.

In keeping with my addiction to reflections, I photographed this beauty at Carburn Park in Calgary, Alberta when the weather was more hospitable! I liked the water as much as the duck.

Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.

The Gator Meat Market has a huge steer out front (presumably so one mistakes their inventory for amphibious rather than ambulatory).

These hybrid bikes are all over San Diego...first ride free! what a great way to see the city.

I have grown too strong.

This is St. Moritz church, right in the centre of Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany. It is one of the eldest churches in Augsburg and was renovated 2010 to 2013. The interior design was developed by British John Pawson architects.

To say that I can get addicted to a program is an understatement! I have to bargain myself away from it. These images were done with WOMBO Dream, an AI art app. I have been playing with the free version on my phone, and OH! The things that can happen!

......what nicer way to finish our puffin hunt than on the way home to call in our Daughter who lives near York. Lovely to walk in and smell freshly baked scones 😊

Chapter 3: Warring Factions Lead Nowhere - No one wins, everyone loses. We only serve to alienate ourselves ... And we wonder why there is no peace in the world. No respect, no respectable discourse, no respectable resolution ... Everyone feeling hurt in their own worlds; everyone feeling angry and confused. No one wants to budge. No compromise. Nothing but war. Let's hurt each other till we obliterate each other.
