Applied Knowledge Club nurtures and promotes an analytical mind set, innovative ideas and critical thinking by developing a platform to voice the thoughts and creativity of the students; and thus hone their marketing skills. This will help the students to understand all the practical implications of real life business situations and build distinctive capabilities of their own.
Applied Paint the Moon's Sunny action, used Bring on the Eyes action by Pioneer Woman, added text and used soft light blend mode.
Our Applied Arts module, within Foundation Art and Design, was briefed with the theme of 'Collections'. I decided to make a collection of globes. I began the project with a very experimental style, to allow myself the freedom to develop my own interpretation of a globe. I used similar colours to the globe and obviously the same shape, so that the allusion of a globe was there, but ultimately I wanted to keep this project fun and contemporary. I think the reason I was attracted to this theme was I was interested in the spherical shape, and I wanted to experiment to find new ways of implementing this shape. Throughout the duration of this project I was conscious of the final unity of the series of work; I tried to make sure that the globes would work, not only individually, but together as a group.
Top Left: Rubbish painted with blue acrylic paint.
Bottom left: Rubbish super glued together, with newspaper and magazines helping to form the spherical shape. The piece is decorated with words and phrases about pollution in green sharpie marker. I wanted the piece to communicate the idea of global warming and our earth's preservation.
Top right: Cartridge paper/Magazines- super glued together. Male shaped paper chains, helped me create the Spherical shape then I filled in the spaces with female individual patterned magazine people cut-outs.
Middle left: Pom Pom (Wool)- made with a cardboard loop structure.
Bottom left: Polystyrene balls painted with blue acrylic paint. Then I outlined the balls with green wool. I joined the balls with wire, and to secure it in parts I added superglue.
