This year marks the 10th anniversary of FH Hagenberg students working together with the Ars Electronica Futurelab on semester projects in which they creatively explore their approaches to interactive and generative arts. Uniquely, these projects are realized in media spaces like the Deep Space that present a very special challenge in themselves.

Lakeland College Applied Research has finished seeding their 2017 research plots. This year agricultural research has seen a huge boost. The teams is conducting projects on pasture weed control; cereal lodging reduction; and cereals, flax, and pulses including soybean and fababeans. The peas have only been seeded for two days and they are already germinating!
Between Benji and Athena the carpet in this room was toast. I tore the carpet out. The original plan was to tile it but I recently found and alternative to tiling. It is called microtopping. It is a polymer based concrete and it is applied just a little more than an eighth inch thick. I added a color to the concrete while I mixed it. The color is called Buff. The application did not take long. About an hour. It is very durable and is not supposed to crack. This project is very cheap to do. It cost us $30. Next I'm going to paint the tunnel that goes around the room that the animals use to go outside.
