A new mobile app called SzépMűSL designed to give deaf people wider access to culture was presented last week at the Museum of Fine Arts.
90 decibel Project (Hungary’s pioneering organization providing high-profile free access to theatres and museums for the deaf and blind people), in co-operation with MSL Accessibility, presented at Hungary’s greatest museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, their special smartphone and tab application, which provide a sign-language guide for deaf people.
As patron of the 90 decibel Project, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Budapest, Theresa Bubbear said:
This is an opportunity to make a real difference and to give deaf people the access to culture, which so many of us take for granted. This smart phone app is a unique example of how technology can make a difference – both to the people who will use the app and to the Museum itself, which will, I hope, attract a new and wider audience.
