The Beatles at the Apple Store. Not sure what to say.
Strawberry Deals Forever?
She came in through the iTunes window?
In seven years they recorded a little over 200 songs together. It doesn't seem like that much music, but they moved very quickly... from Love Me Do to I'm Only Sleeping to Day In The Life to, well, beyond Beatle-dome.
MacLen were like the two main ingredients of a Reese's peanut butter cup finally come together (oops!) -- superior to each ingredient on its own.
I used to think of Lennon as a god and Macca as a simp. I see it all so differently these days. John would never really be a top-40 artist after the Beatles. Paul could go and write some of the greatest music of his life afterward only to be mocked as superficial.
John's death - premature and arguably during a rally of artistic prowess and personal victory over his many demons - damned Paul to a long, second-rate (if bountiful) life: His partner was frozen in time at the peak of his vigor, while he, Sir Paul, would age and wane publically.
I love John, but Paul wrote rings around him. Do 100 "Maybe I'm Amazed" compare to one "Imagine"? Nope. But Macca has managed to find some peace, grace and wisdom, if not always dignity.
Maybe the best message comes from George and Ringo: Be happy with good enough and if occasionally something brilliant comes along, be fucking grateful.

Inside the store. Everything is on one level, and the skylight lets in lots of daylight. On a Wednesday afternoon the storeperson-to-customer ratio was about 1:1.
