Anything is possible.
ODC - Modified
My sweet peas offered me up a sweet surprise this morning. I love my garden :).
Excerpt from www.railwaycitytourism.com/murals.html#portfolio-4173e8a7...:
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
"If elephants can float on bubbles, anything is possible."
Laura intends to use the naturalization of the existing box car as the background contrasted with the whimsical figures we see throughout her current style. Laura has been placing figures throughout St. Thomas in some unknown, and known locations blurring the lines between fine-art and street-art. The boxcar mural is a natural extension of her work.

At first I was going to be a hippie shaking her hips.
FGR today is "humorous jokes." Something tells me I wouldn't be splitting any sides with my first idea.
So, here I am: a hippie who has evidently given PEACE a chance, and now I venture on to PEAS (and carrots).
"All we are saying... is give peas a chance!"
I must admit that with the projected forecast I didn't hold out much chance for us summiting Mount Elie De Beaumont this year. But with the pilots positive outlook on tomorrow a slight glimmer of hope returned.
Our thoughts: If we flew up tomorrow then we would be ready for a summit attempt the following day, our only window of opportunity. Sundays forecast: a few centimetres of snowfall in the morning with reducing cloud cover and winds easing to 40kmh later in the day. Not a perfect day but the best available.
My mind constantly turned to what tomorrow might bring. It was hard sitting and waiting and not knowing but for now that was all we could do, that, and check the updated forecast every hour!
There were times when the valley appeared to open up, but the ever present clouds over the range and the high winds blowing streaks of snow from the peaks above us was a constant reminder that though it appears calm in the valley, it is was anything but that in the mountains.

2022 marks 40 years since the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and its predecessor organization began funding research. It’s a moment in time to reflect on the many people whose passion, like Christopher’s, inspire our mission, Today’s Care. Tomorrow’s Cure. Their belief in the Foundation’s work has made 40 years of progress possible. Today, with our Reeve torch ablaze, we carry forward the flame of passion that is catapulting us toward long-awaited cures.

"The Little Tree That Could" by Patti Deters. This lone tree, seen high in the clouds in Zion National Park, is a real survivor! Its roots have grown into the rock helping it cling to life on the steep mountainside while the branches reach up toward the sky, as if reaching for the sun. It reminded me of the children's storybook "The Little Engine That Could" that shows that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. This resilient little tree may be a Ponderosa Pine, stunted from the extreme growing conditions at the top of the hill, but surviving and looking beautiful nonetheless! It's a truly inspiring image that reminds us to keep pushing forward, even when the odds may seem stacked against us. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or simply appreciate the beauty of nature, this image is sure to capture your heart and leave a lasting impression. So take a moment to soak in the scenery and let the little tree's courage inspire you to keep chasing your dreams! Part of some colourful wall art to promote autism awareness and the work of Spectrum, the South West’s leading charity for autism services.
Five siblings of people with autism designed the unique mural in a series of workshops, alongside graffiti artist Marc Craig.

ASD: Autism spectrum disorder is the name for a group of developmental disorders. ASD includes a wide range, “a spectrum,” of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability. People with ASD often have these characteristics: Ongoing social problems that include difficulty communicating and interacting with others.

Anything is possible when you have inner peace. So I heard in Kung Fu Panda 2:-)
Shadow knows this...he had very little hope of being adopted...yet here he is....literally OUR Shadow!
I will read anything she writes...this was so good...but now I need to go back and reread "My Name is Lucy Barton."
Anything is possible ~ even holding the sun in your hands!
♥ A true cliche shot ~its hard to do this and hold the camera steady at the same time ♥
Try it in the lightbox (L)

Since Chuppy got his new haircut, his ears have been all over the place. Flying up and down. He reminds me of Dumbo. No actually, look at that face, Dug from Up!
If only Dug could fly, then we'd have a perfect match. :)
It's SUPER DUPER hot over here! I kinda want to go to the lake, instead of the beach, so I'll ask my dad. :)
that's what i blogged about today. we are so blessed.
want to know how kiele hears? what a cochlear implant sounds like? i put a link in my blog. it really is so amazing.
to create
to unravel
to try again, with another colour
and again, with different wool
only to return to the original idea
"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible; but with God
All things are possible.."
that is the name of the book she wrote, for her English class assignment.
I have had a number of teachers suggest that I work on getting Kiele's book published, with Kiele's deaf itinerant basically insisting on it. So that is now what I'm working on. I've already been in contact with someone, who is going to pitch it to a publisher.
Sorry for the crappy scan; I had it set on color smoothing so it jacked up all Kiele's pictures. I plan to rescan once she gets the book back.
I know there is controversy regarding the cochlear implant. I will NOT ALLOW this post to become a thread for debate, bashing or anything of the such. If you do post something in this manner, I will delete your comment.

"This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can." --- Barack Obama

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer." - President Elect Obama

Kilagi Points and Shoots
They call Leon (8) "Kilagi" which means "The Deaf One". Kilagi is also mute, but from the first day he spied my Nikon D200, he was eager to click away. Here he is
now, confidently handling a Nikon D70. Thoughtful, focused, and Robin Williams funny, Kilagi is a natural photographer. What his ears can't hear and what his mouth can't articulate makes photography the perfect medium to express his perspective --and perceptions--on the world around him, which for the time being is confined to this awesome orphanage on the outskirts of Kigali where just 11 years ago, hundereds were saved during the genocide. Today, this same plot of land, and the people on it, are thriving with life, love, and looking forward to peace and prosperity.
Art, I believe, is a powerful tool for these children who have much to express, but not the means with which to do so. And Camera Literacy, I think, encourages a lifetime of looking...

iPhone app "LED Message" and custom stencil. Once I get all the materials for the Digital Light Wand www.flickr.com/photos/txross/5924777908/in/photostream I won't have to paint messages with the phone.
Since the message painted backwards (doh!) I won't be submitting to the contest since I had to flip about the vertical axis. Will try again. Also not impressed with the edging around the outside of the stencil. Since my flash bit it I'm having to use a flashlight and angle it around to cover the design.
