Show your voice: Unmasked

My photograph depicts the mental health issues that is prevalent in today's youth. Often, we mask our true feelings and emotions to just "fit in". Social media likes and comments seem to be the validation of one's worth and teens struggle to show their insecurities and feelings. It is important to show your voice to make it safe for teens to reveal their true emotions and it is equally crucial for them to unmask, be vulnerable and seek the needed help.

Anushka is a Playback Singer, Performer, Actress, Biker, Songwriter, Musician, VJ and a biker chick.

She rose to fame after winning Channel V Popstars Vol. 1 as the band VIVA! Since then she has been a VJ with Channel V, done playback singing for a bunch of Tamil and Bollywood Films, acted in a bunch too, won the 2009 edition of Fear Factor : Khatron Ke Khiladi, modeled and made a walk in wardrobe for herself.

She has her own band called Shkabang and has recently recorded on Ashu's Petri Dish project. Yes, you saw her perform at the Weekender too.

She's one of the cooler famous people you will meet. We rode on my activa to her place where this picture was shot in her walk in wardrobe.

A while back I mentioned that I had something exciting planned...I was referring to today's studio shoot of a few animals at Jungle Cat World. I spend lots of time up there and the owner kindly agreed to let me setup my studio and give it a try.

This was an interesting experience and much more difficult than I expected. It's definitely not the same thing as shooting a dog that you can tell to sit down! I did try telling a few of the animals to sit but they wouldn't listen ;) The squeeky toys didn't do much to grab their attention either.....

I came away a few shots I'm happy with, a few scratches and a pulled muscle in my neck. Worth it? Totally!!!

We were in a room with Misha one of my favorite Tigers who must weigh a good 200 pounds now. He proceeded to totally destroy the seamless paper background and seemed to enjoy being as close to us as possible (which made photographing him next to impossible.)

The cubs were easier but they didn't stay still for very long....there's just so much to see and explore. I also photographed Cougars, A Ringtailed Lemur and a Red Fox, photo's of them to come soon.

I look forward to giving it another try now that I"m a bit more prepared for what I"m going to encounter!
