A worker of one of the most common ants in the north collecting nectar from a flower.

Beef ants took over a hill of gravel which was dumped outside our yard to fill in pot holes. I should have stirred them up first, but would have had hundred runnning about trying to bite me. Looks better full screen

This ant and several others have decided that tunneling within their prison isn't adequate, and would rather think outside the box, or a least think about how to get outside the box.

This ant lived in southern Portugal but is now probably dead. Thanks Ants,,, Thants

Ants and aphids share a close relationship of mutualism. Ants feed on the sugary honeydew left behind by aphids. In exchange, the ants protect the aphids from predators and parasites.

These ants had a hay day with this little surprise. I'm pretty sure the ones on the bottom had a little bit of an McDonald soda overdose.

 

Note the lady on the on the cup. She is the million dollar winner?? Really??

An ant is helping the other severely injured ant.

I put down some honey near a black ants nest, and they liked it enormously. I took quite a few pictures and managed to get a few worth keeping. Like this one.
