This is the most prestigious model built by Ansaldo.
The “Tipo 22”, rare and refined car, has a modern chassis fitted with an engine able to guarantee brilliant performances even with the monumental bodies of those days. Unfortunately it was produced during a period of international crisis so it didn’t have that commercial success necessary to solve the firm’s financial problems.
The car shown in the museum covered just 3.000 km from new, and still has its original leather interior and log book listing just one change in ownership (see display case). The first owner of this car was Nicola Frugone, a wealthy well known-man of the Ligurian Riviera. In the passenger compartment, the vanity case has silver accessories and there is also a refined petrol fuelled cigar-lighter bearing the Ansaldo badge. Note the original rubber running boards for cleaning your shoes before coming on board. The gear lever is rather singular too: it has a lock with a special security key, one of the first car antitheft devices.

Barbados. Trash cans go missing in the dark of night. This household paint their trash bins preemptively calling thief. Talked to owner, he says it works .... so far.
In the IUSVE campus there are some old bikes that have been there from: ever.
Here is one of them with an amazing anti-theft trick!
These sheep in orange hearth rugs are actually an anti-theft device. Or more accurately an anti-rustling measure.

Typical security guard off found throughout the Philippines at the entrances to almost all businesses.
This is one way to make sure no one ever steals your camera.
Perhaps Nikon will introduce this product when they make their next camera announcement.

Luckily this Dodge Dart was parked at a corner so I was able to get this front-end shot of it. One of my best friends in high school drove a black & white Dodge Dart pretty much just like this (maybe it was exactly like this --I don't remember it in that much detail-- but it was definitely a white Dodge Dart sedan with a black vinyl top and black interior, and I think she sort of inherited it from her older brother). We used to drive around in that car singing at the top of our lungs to 8-track tapes (!) of The Clash and (...wait for it) The Knack. Sometimes I marvel that I survived my teenage years given some of the crazy stuff we did at that age. But really, in the grand scheme of things, we were pretty good kids who got good grades and had nice manners and never really got into trouble. I guess we were just really fucking lucky -- that, and somewhere within us was a core of common sense (to go along with the recklessness) that somehow kept us safe. Anyway, I was thinking about these things while I tried to photograph this car. And then I chuckled to myself when I came around to shoot the front end, and the red "club" sticking straight up kind of made it seem like the car was giving me the finger. I also like how the red of The Club is picked up in the license plate frame, and again in the red bricks of the planter box.
If you're wondering what the hell I'm going on about:
The garbage can at left was bright blue and I turned down the blue to highlight the trike. This ended up looking like a mix of color and B&W.

Handyman's special! This Golf GTI is a fun car. With a little work, it could be even better. At the moment, the car will not start, but it turns over just fine. I'm pretty sure it's a blown head gasket, which makes for a good opportunity to swap out the heads for the 16v version and get some extra horsepower.
The interior is in fair condition, but the headliner is shot and there is a hole in the driver's seat. The rims are pretty horrible looking, but they hold air.
This car hasn't ever been wrecked, paint is original and in pretty good condition. The car has a few small dings and dents.

Ford / Mazda design collaboration ~ Explorer 'Sport' / Navajo 4x4 ~ 1993 V6, 4 spd, Auto.
This is probably my last vehicle... It's a 'clunker', but it's the most appropriate conveyance at this time in my life. The model won the MotorTrend "Truck of the Year". when it first came out in 1991.
Many vehicles like it were recently being crushed up pretty thoroughly in the 'cash for clunkers' Gov, subsidized ecology/economy push. In a weird reverse twist, it turns out that for me spending my own money (approx. $2,300) - on such a thing has been the perfect solution to my situation of minimal money , minimal travel, and living 400+ feet off the road in the woods. It takes regular gas, is built like a tank. and is fitted out w /nice 15" alloys, cruise control, intermittent wipers, push button 4WD, power windows & mirrors, anti lock brakes, remote start, power door locks, trailer hitch, and an antitheft system. IE: Most of the features of today's $30,000 ++ plus ' 4x4 are onboard and working and well maintained.
Pretty spiffy for 1993. It was discontinued in '94 and was the last 'truck based' (Mazda B2000) frame for the Explorer.
