From a shoot in July 2015.

The model and I were good friends, but lost contact in 2017, and we agreed that I was allowed to post pictures of her, but she had to remain anonymous.

Today marks the start of our two week countdown until our next visit to Walt Disney World! I'm really excited about this vacation to celebrate Carrie's college graduation for several reasons.

First, we'll be at WDW from May 22 - 25, which is always awesome. Then, Disney stepped it up for us with the 24 hour day on the 24th! Next we drive to Fort Lauderdale on the 26th for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Allure of the Seas. And, to finish things off (and break up the drive home), we're making a quick stop back at WDW on June 2. I can't wait for the trip, and if anyone else is going to be at WDW during the days we are there, let me know (and, especially for the 24 hour day)!

Now for today's image, you may remember my Obscure Pirates shot a little while back. I was challenging myself to shoot things in Pirates besides the iconic scenes. Inspiration for this one, however, goes to Cory DIsbrow. When trying to decide if I should upgrade to the 5D3, Cory was nice enough to send me some RAW files to play with, and a shot of this guy was one of them (although his was framed much tighter and taken with the amazing 135mm f/2 Canon lens).

I'm loving the 5D3 for dark rides, and the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 is surprisingly good for this application. Now I really want a wider prime to go with it and I'm torn between the cheaper Canon 50mm f/1.4 and the more expensive Sigma 35mm f/1.4 which is getting glowing reviews. As happy as I am with the 85mm, I think the Sigma may be in the lead, but we'll see...

The Internet era has seen the rise of the ultimate grass roots citizen watchdog group; a totally decentralized unorganized group of anonymous people called "Anonymous"

The group developed online to engage in online dissent.

There are no leaders and anyone can self identify as "Anonymous" because the totally non-hierachical organization means whatever anyone who decides they are part of it says it does. For the most part, "Anonymous" is dedicated to positive societal change, although what that might mean is in the eye of the beholder. The United States Government has engaged in prosecutorial over-reach in its persecutorial prosecutions of individuals who have admitted participation in the group. Currently the young American journalist Barrett Brown is incarcerated because he was perceived to be the Anonymous spokesman.

"Anonymous" can be anyone from the peaceful protesters attending our Kitchener-Waterloo Stop Bill C-51 Day of Action to the Internet troll who tried to bully me (and threaten) me on g+ the other day (before I blocked it)

more here about the Biennale :

Ralph Rugoff has declared: «May You Live in Interesting Times will no doubt include artworks that reflect upon precarious aspects of existence today, including different threats to key traditions, institutions and relationships of the “post-war order.” But let us acknowledge at the outset that art does not exercise its forces in the domain of politics. Art cannot stem the rise of nationalist movements and authoritarian governments in different parts of the world, for instance, nor can it alleviate the tragic fate of displaced peoples across the globe (whose numbers now represent almost one percent of the world’s entire population).»

..under the weeping willow tree.

I'm always amused at how so many young couples use this tree for their trysts! I think they must be "forbidden loves" in some way, as they can control the path from both directions, and hide their faces accordingly. It would be so much simpler to meet on a park bench! :)

I am not Jesus. I will not be forgiving and forgetting all the things you do. So far nothing I've tried helps me to soften the memories. I may be broken forever. So many are already used up. They'll never have families. They can't work any more. I hope I never forget the faces of so many others like me. #anonymous #anon

Here I used my Canon 75-300mm zom lens. I missed isolating subjects from the background, which I could not do on my Canon PowerShot, unless you count getting macro shots or the like.

Scientologists have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars or work for the Sea Org in virtual indentured servitude for years in order to advance to the level of OTIII (phonetically: Oh-Tee-Three) where they learn the absurd story of the Galactic Overlord Xenu, as featured in the famous South Park episode "Out of the Closet".

All of this information is available for free on the Internet, largely thanks to high ranking ex-scientologists who eventually realized they were being lied to, left the cult and exposed it's fraud.

Here's the OTIII story, in L. Ron Hubbard's own voice, as broadcast by Australian network TV recently: www.vimeo.com/3076662
