A cheetah at Hammerton Zoo.

This wolf is housed in the Winnipeg Assiniboine Zoo. One of four and I will learn his name as he is always watching me now as I visit quite regularly. The pack earlier this year lost their female member to cancer; of all things! However, wolf pack or human pack... we all must adapt and grow and learn!

a beautiful second in the life of the Polar Bear having just come out of their water area. Seeing I was getting a reflection in trying to capture some action shots.. I thought; work with it. The next time the bear came out of the water he paused and shook off the water, the reflection caught some of the trees and background. Hope you enjoy! And as always; thank you for visiting my gallery!

Un avestruz solitario en el Parque Natural Amboseli en Kenia

The beautiful snow leopard safely housed in the Assiniboine Park Zoo... is one of my favorites to try and capture just being themselves... her eye expression says it all!!

Camels are such a fascinating animal... and to see three acting in unison... wonder what they are thinking?

This little wild hare was scoping out the grass and flowers right out in the open and when he paused.. you could see the edges of his ears have either been chewed on or was just born with a ragged edge to them. Just love rabbits, too!

These lovely creatures are quite unique, never venturing very far from one another in their troop. Photographing them is tricky as they are in constant motion. Watching them through a thick protective glass wall is another photography challenge. However; patience and trying and not giving up until I can get into the rhythm of their beat... lol

It's a little strange to see polar bears strolling along on green grassy fields. They do enjoy it in their home at the Assiniboine Zoo Arctic exhibit. They have ponds and caves to dwell and hide in. They also roll around and wrestle and chase each other. They are safe, happy and content. And apparently their dung sparkles with a color assigned to each bear to monitor their health. Fancy that, lol!

Thinking about legging it!...taken at Cresswell, Northumberland

Though it is not the best scenario to watch a beautiful Amur Tiger in captivity; at least with a careful encampment = we can study and learn and try as hard as heck to stop the senseless slaughter and mismanagement of all the earth's wildlife that we have been given to the care of! Wake up people! The earth and all its wildlife was placed under our care... and what exactly have we done with it???

...and it's hilarious how these big wonderful bears try to find ways to scratch that itch...

Visiting the camels housed at the Assiniboine Zoo; you're in for a treat if they're willing to play along...

LUCAS DE CIRIA : CANON EOS 80D - SIGMA C 150-600mm. Fotografia Lucas de Ciria. Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, provincia de Corrientes, ARGENTINA

Such a unique creature; not many of us know much about. But they do love and protect one another! I had the opportunity to view these unusual animals and witness how they interact and how comfortable they are in their protected surroundings housed in the Winnipeg Zoo

This beautiful polar bear was enjoying his afternoon nap in the cool Spring air. This exhibit at the Assiniboine Zoo is quite remarkable and there is soooo much to see and learn!

This little fellah resided at the Winnipeg Zoo, which I frequented a lot when I lived there. They were a fun study in animal action!

This lovely trio of Bactrian camel resting comfortably; all three at rest in the same way. Three different colors and three different temperaments.

This Afridcan Fruit Bat is housed freely in the Tropical Housed at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. Most times they are resting or asleep, but once in a while you can watch them eat fruit chunks. They are quite fascinating to watch and study up close! Apparently, the largest of the bat species. They are at least a foot long. The other bats in the vicinity wouldn't even be the size of this one's head.

A passerby at the bus stop... the making of a commercial for a happy dog!

This gorgeous tiger, 'Vulga' and I have some pretty interesting conversations and experiences at the zoo... in my gallery you'll see the shots of her correcting a noisy child... she is a very inquisitive feline!

Not sure what scent this polar bear is checking out; but he was enjoying chomping on the green grass and rolling around on it earlier... check it out in my gallery. Being able to watch and study these gorgeous animals is so amazing and they love it where they are homed at the Arctic exhibit at the Assiniboine Zoo.

Two of the resident polar bears in the Assiniboine Park Zoo Arctic scene can often be found wrestling around. They have many places to hide and curl up in, to climb and swim in. Sometimes they venture out to be scene; other times you have to really watch to see where they've blended in with their environment.

The resident red fox of the Assiniboine Zoo is usually hiding or curled up. Today he was sniffing something in the air and he was licking his lips and he was figuring out the aroma...

Vulga the Amur tiger; makes a friend or? Then, as if on cue; Vulga and the child lean towards the glass and rest their foreheads against it - together... it was an amazing act to witness at the zoo!

After a number of attempts at repositioning and rebalancing, the osprey took off from his perch for a few seconds and is about to land again to resume his dinner. On the menu today: the fresh catch of the day (spotted bay bass)

Just a few images of interesting characters we have met throughout our trips from home. Some quite magnificent and others not so much. A few disreputable elements and ones you wouldn’t turn your back on.

Hi, we will be looking after Granddaughters for a week so very little time to Flickr but will be back in a week. All the best to everyone and I will return (I've heard that somewhere)

These interactive Gibbon monkeys are so very active, inquisitive and interactive... if they're not getting attention.. they will knock on the window...

She was a welcome guest, suddenly playing in my Balcony. Very colourful with her vibrancy looks stunning isn't it. Was pretty camera shy, gave me little room to manipulate with light. Hope you all will like it!
