This species has a wingspan of 45–52 mm and the forewings are very distinctively shaped with a sharply pointed apex. The common name is derived from the characteristic markings on the forewings: the base colour is buffish, brown towards the termen, and is marked with a bold v-shaped pink and green marking. Despite this bright colouring, the angular markings provide excellent disruptive patterning camouflage. The hindwings are whitish with darker venation.

Another wide angle close up, this time an Amarylis, was hoping to get some backlight on it from the sun, but as soon as I took it into the garden the sun went in and the wind picked up

Was at UCLA today and stumbled upon the set for Ron Howard's "Angels and Demons", the prequel to "The Da Vinci Code". Got to see them shoot about 15 seconds of footage from pretty far off. Nothing too exciting, just a scene of Tom Hanks and another person walking down a corridor talking. Apparently they are using Royce Hall as a stand in for the Cathedral at the Vatican, since all the controversy from the first film led the REAL Vatican to ban the production from filming there. Here are some pictures I took, including some slick Alfa Romero's with Euro plates, mock stain glass windows that have been added to Royce for effect, a picture of the front of the building (complete with green screens and all the fixins for a big budget film), a picture of Tom Hank's trailer (he was inside at the time), and a picture of Tom Hanks as he rode away from the set on his bicycle. He said hi to me and a small group of onlookers as he rode off. Really nice guy. No pictures of Ron Howard or Ewan McGregor, unfortunately, though I distinctly heard Howard's voice yelling "Action!" and "Cut!". Pretty nice surprise on a boring Wednesday.

Admittedly I'm not being too accurate with this measurement, but it looks to be close to 71.5-72º. According to the blueprint, this should be 73.6º. Dammit.

I found the architecture of this building interesting, with the extremely high contrast and right-angle lines.

Angle because the inside section of the legs is on an angle... Door because is made from a door... and a Bench because its a bench!

Angles - Notre-Dame

The church once belonged to an Augustinian canonry, founded in the second half of the 11th century and elevated to the status of an abbey in the 14th century. In 1371, during the Hundred Years' War, the church suffered extensive damage. At the end of the 16th century, during the Huguenot Wars, the monastery buildings and parts of the church were destroyed. After the dissolution of the abbey in 1791, the former abbey church was used as a parish church.

On top of the gable of the west facade is the sculpture of a bear ("La Malebête") dating back to the 12th century. The name Malebête goes back to a legend according to which, in the Middle Ages, a monster threatened the inhabitants of Angles until a hermit caught and tamed it. However, the young girls made fun of the hermit, who took revenge by making the beast climb onto the roof of the church and turn it to stone, cursing it to make all the girls it saw ugly.

Ruins of St. Paul's

The angle of this really superb, it's time to have some add and bold idea on how taking some fancy shots. Take this as instance, the clouds here really play a important role, otherwise this will not able to produce such a magnificent view. After putting those shots in photomatix rendered, the turnout not quite bad.

Lined tree snail on palm trunk.

Angle, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK.

This photo is a good demo of what a wide angle 'lens' can do to make things converging... The Zero 612B camera has a 'lens' which covers 123.8 degrees of view.

These two street poles were parallel to each other standing upright on the street. The "smaller" one was directly opposite and across the road, about 20m away from the bigger one.

I was standing below this bigger pole , with the pinhole on tripod below my waist, guesstimating the angle of view of this camera. I was quite surprise to see this result although I was expecting both of them to be within the frame...

Tec: Zero 612B pinhole camera, F/158, counted to 4... NPC160 converted to B&W in PS. I didn't add any vignetting to this one... I was lucky not to get any light leak on this frame.

Deboxing my new Rapunzel Animator Doll. She is free standing, and is photographed from all angles. The sunlight was fading, so I had to use flash on some of the photographs.

When I first saw these new Animator dolls, I was not sure that I wanted to get a whole new set of them, as I have all the dolls in the original series (released in 2011). Plus I they were without their plush sidekicks, and I didn't like the glitter on the new outfits. However, I was won over when I saw them in person.

Rapunzel's new outfit is similar to the one on the 2011 Animator doll, and based on her iconic dress. The bodice and sleeves are almost identical to that on the earlier doll. The dress has a multilayered skirt, unlike the simple one layer skirt of the older doll. There is an peplum of dark pink satin, with a silver glitter decoration. Below that is a sheer dark pink organza over the front half of the skirt. The below the organza is a dark pink liner, and on the back of the skirt is dark pink satin. The satin of the skirt is thinner and not as shiny or smooth as that of the older doll, and it doesn't have lace trim at the hemline. I think that the older outfit is higher quality, but I do like the current design.

There is hair product in the end of her pony tail, making is rather stiff, so I decided not to undo the rubber bands in her hair for now. The hair just barely reaches her feet, so is about 15'' long. The older doll had 17'' long hair, so it dragged on the ground, and could be wrapped around her feet. The quality of the hair itself seems about the same, but I won't know for sure until I undo the rubber bands and comb it out. The new doll seems to hair that is shinier and a slightly deeper shade of blonde. There is hair product over her forehead, that helps keep her hair out of her face.

Their faces are identical, except for a couple of small changes. The rouge on the cheeks of the new doll is much fainter, and the lips are purplish pink, rather than the bright pink of the older doll. I think both dolls are very beautiful.

I tried to get this shot as close to level as I could, but might have missed it by a degree or so. I was 75-100 feet up the hillside, and standing at an odd angle (braced against a tree so I would not slip and fall), but managed to snap this photo before slipping and aliding back down to the road.

She's being surprisingly photogenic.
