Finally I have a decent shot from this angle on the Tower of Terror. I tried the past 2 trips to get it and for various reasons was unable to get a shot I was happy with. I do wish the sky had been clearer this night to capture more stars as I think it works particularly well with a shot like this. Unfortunately the story of the entire trip was cloud cover and I only had a few breaks from it to capture a few stars here and there. Where possible though I've used the exposure with the most motion in the clouds as I find this more interesting generally than the still clouds. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

I was very happy to spot this lovely caterpillar in my garden. I'll have to keep an eye out for any of the moths too.
Hubby got me a wide angle lens for Christmas that has been sitting at our friends' house in D.C. for 3 months. It's a long story (involving blizzards, canceled flights, and clever planning that turned out to be not-so-clever). Anyway, hubby just returned home from DC with the lens, and I had a fun afternoon of testing it out!

This morning, when it was still dark outside, I noticed that the electric light created angles because of the way the light and shadows came together. This is what I noticed first: the shapes. Then I saw how the different colours created impact. I love to take photos where we remove all possible labels and enjoy instead the play of shape, light, shadow and colour.
This is a very exciting exercise which I like very much.

Having some fun taking wide angle photos of Grey Squirrels in preparation for a project with an altogether different kettle of fish in a couple of months...
I just love the peacefullness of this image. What could be better than sitting with your fishing rod on your own little piece of beautiful coastline overlooking one of Pembrokeshire's best beaches as the setting sun drifts lazily down to the horizon.
